So FI and I went to look and my #1 choice for venue (so far) today (this ranking is based purely on internet reasurch since it's the only one we've actually looked at.)
I liked the venue, it is very pretty, but there was no "I LOVE it here's the deposit" moment, but then I don't really know what to expect a venue to be like, I've not been to many weddings and they were all backyard style. The site caters for smaller and larger weddings, a smaller wedding (like ours) is in an old celler room with french doors a nice courtyard outside, fairy lights all over the old beams on the cealling and nice veiws, gardens etc but the larger (or just bigger budget) weddings are in the main reasurant wich is really quite WOW but really not in our budget. The ceromony site is the same for all weddings and really pretty. The food looks pretty AMAZING, we didn't actually eat any when we were there because it's expensive (we're trying to save for a wedding here!) and we had just had a big breakfast before setting off- but it does have excellent reviews. The only critisisms I've read is that it's expensive.
Then we looked at avalible dates. I didn't think so many people booked THAT far in advace because they have no Fridays or Saturdays left in Jan or Feb next year and FI can't take time off really in March (no Fridays or Sat in early march free anyway).....so if we go for this place it will be Sat 31st of March or Thursday 5th of April (day before good friday so a really long weekend) or on a weekday in January or Feb (this is summer time so in early Jan many people are still on holiday from work). As a guest, which would you prefer?
I'm worried if we take the time to look at more venues both these dates will be taken, but is it silly to just book the first place you see because it was the best looking and had the most info on the internet and filled all criteria?

For a (realitivly) low budget wedding, does this have the wow factor?
