Hey Folks, So I finally replaced my broken UV Torch & been having a little play checking my bits & pieces but I'm abit Puzzled with this Stone it's an 0.64ct L Colour Antique Transitional am I witnessing Purple Fluorescence or is it just standard Blue Fluo?? I know you can get varied Colours & a few of my other Stones Glow Yellow & a few Green but this has me Puzzled lol

I've personally never seen Purple Fluorescence so I can't be sure so Experts opinions needed! - Pics & Vids included Below including Standard Daylight Shots of the Stone, Thanks in Advance!

What does it look like in sunlight? shaded sunlight?

What a beautiful stone! I do think it fluorescences in purple! So so cool! I have an old brooch, named buckle brooch and it offers a range of awkward fluor-colours but not that beautiful purple!D2D18E42-42A6-4DEE-B762-6631EA8DDE32.jpeg

I just took a quick video here's the Stone in Shaded Sunlight then Direct Sunlight - I can't personally see any influence of the Fluorescence in this Lighting source, Also thanks for sharing that Article super interesting!

Beautiful stone!

:appl:Love how purple it looks! What a fab find!

Fluorescence is by far my favourite feature in diamonds and I’m always quite disappointed if a new finds turns out to not have any. This purple! I’ve never seen anything like it before. Consider me an official fan of your stone!

Beautiful stone!

Thanks, I was shocked when I saw it Glow Bright Purple, I think I will have to have a small torch to hand now

I am so jealous!

There's no need to be Jealous least of all over this modest sized stone compared to the Whoppers that Grace the Threads!

Mine too! It's like a cool little secret between you & your diamond also thank-you I hadn't either I was convinced my eyes were deceiving me, I'd love to know what compels it to Glow Purple I know it has to do with the Elements of Boron, Nitrogen & Aluminum if I have that wrong please correct me! But it would be so interesting to know the recipe in Mother Earth's Crust that creates this Purple Glow! Thanks again everyone for being so helpful & kind!

Also some more interesting info about this Stone I found its Doppelganger in the Book "American Cut the First 100 Years" The likeness is Uncanny!

It was in the Culet Size Comparison Diagram, It states this type of cutting style was popular from 1900 to 1940 (Remarking on the Large Open Culet)

Can you share the type/brand of flashlight that you used to test the diamond? Is it short wave or long wave?
