I've been looking for an engagement ring for a while and came across this seller. I thought their jewelry was fabulous and they seemed trust worth based on a large following, until I saw this post....

Is that truly a royal blue sapphire or is it not a blue green sapphire?

Any recommendations for engagement rings would be helpful also

xThanks

looks like twlight blue ???

be very careful with darker blues, they can often darken completly out
i know - i have one :(2
but in some countries a lot of saphire rings are a dark blue

That's going to be a very very dark stone in real life. It's also poorly finished - I can see visible abrasions along the facet edges - that's impressive in a hard stone like sapphire; it shows me it wasn't well handled nor cared for

This is what I’d call a parti-sapphire. A mix of multiple colours - in this case blue & green. It’s quite dark and definitely not “royal blue”…

Definately blue green and not royal blue. Called a partl sapphire, these are also found in Australia.
still very pretty but will be very dark in low light.

That looks either parti or twilight blue colour, still pretty.

Awaiting on certification of a sapphire I had reserved, wonder whether it will come back as peacock, velvet or royal blue, probably not cornflower as it’s meant to be Burmese and not very silky; thank goodness I wasn’t completely wowed by cornflower blue, like velvet or good royal blue just as much!02435A44-B217-4366-9418-0C2C000E095F.jpeg6660010F-BABF-44AB-AFBB-547243DE41BA.jpeg

Beautiful stone, could you share where you got it from? I'm still on the hunt for the right sapphire. Thanks

From a vendor in Australia, I only paid deposit for it as yet, on the way to Thailand for Lotus certification. I put up the photos of other sapphires he showed me before I decided on this stone:

Here is my royal Blue almost 3ct.

A shade deeper than one I’m halfway through buying (), perhaps it will come back as Velvet rather than Royal blue…

Have you seen that in person or that is the pic from the vendor ? Normally vendor‘s picture are lighter than that in real life.

No haven’t seen it yet but have the video too. Don’t mind if it’s velvet or royal, the vendor reckons it’s royal.
