Hi everyone!

We are currently on the hunt for the perfect 22k gold wedding bands. I have been off the forum for a bit for my own self-control, but wedding bands are an important exception!

Thought I would check here in case has something unloved looking for a lifelong home :)

On hunt for some pretty specific specs, but never hurts to try ;)

1) 22k band size 6.5-7; 3.2-3.5mm width and 2mm+ thickness. Wanting all the chunk. (There is a literally perrrfect on LT rn but it's a size 5 *cries*. Hoping to avoid significant sizing if possible)

2) 22k band size 8.5-9; 6-7mm (closer to 7 is better) and 1.5mm or less thickness.

If anyone has something along these lines or has any leads, would be much appreciated!

Thanks all! <3

Carterjewelry22 and GoldCabinent are Etsy sellers that have lots of 22k bands so you may want to check them out. I recently went down the 22k rabbit hole myself!

22k gold jewelry is far more common in the Middle East and Asia- any plans to travel? Do consider whether you’d want thin bands with 22k gold because it’s more malleable than 18k, hence more likely to deform from regular use.

Do you definitely want antique/vintage or pre-loved? If not, this Etsy seller was recommended here and I just ordered some earrings from him. He can custom make whatever you want. https://www.etsy.com/shop/AAurous

Thank you! I had stumbled upon these sellers on my own recent Etsy dive, but a good reminder to go back and give them a closer look!

Yes! Thank you! I had found his shop and am considering reaching out of we can't find anything vintage ;-) Do you know if he also works on 22k? I know most of his pre-programmed offerings are in 24k gold, which, while gorgeous, I don't think would quite hold up to daily wear over many years :)

Unfortunately no travel plans soon enough for when we need this, but I do know the Middle Eastern and South Asian preference for high-karat gold.

And we are both looking for pretty hefty bands. As noted above, one 3.3mm, but 2mm+ thick, and 6-7mm for dh -- these seem to be dimensions that pop up with some frequency in antique bands, so my assumption is that they are weighty enough to last.

I got a 22k band from him that I've worn every day since I got it months ago. I love his work and he will customize to your preferences.

I just see @lovedogs responded on the question of 22k. He’s super responsive to customization requests though I did not ask for 22k. Good luck in your search!

Another option could be looking into Indian jewelry shops if available in your area . Typically 22k. Not sure if price wise they work out or not in the US.

Yes! I had been considering taking a little peruse on Yelp. There should definitely be something somewhere in LA (if anyone knows a good one lmk!). I am also going to be visiting my parents in San Jose this week, where there is DEFINITELY a big Indian population, and I am sure some jewelers :)

ETA: I can probably go down to a size 6, if it's of any help ;) I forget how much my fingers have shrunk

Saw this on IG. It’s only 20k, size 7.75 and sizeable. From 1930. https://oldmineshop.com/shop/p/mjr5w0zubb06bj1vpdvz4wfhg40a6j

Thank you so much! What gorgeous photos. Ugh. Hoping to avoid sizing if possible-- only because there are many simple bands out there ;-) But definitely will consider sizing if I have to

I THINK I found something for the 3.3mm band though. Hooray! On Ebay. We shall see if it meets expectations on arrival in

Still looking for the wide band, though!

Thank you! Didn't realize she had a sale going on right now!

I has seen this band at some point, and based on the weight assumed that it wouldn't be as deep/hefty as I was looking for. But with the sale it's a great process for anyone looking!

Looks like the Ebay ring is a winner! Thanks everyone for your input, search skills, and suggestions! :mrgreen2::mrgreen2::mrgreen2:
Always happy to rescue old gold from pawn shop purgatory...

Now just seeking the 7mm band! (More of a challenge to be sure ;)2)20220422_183327.jpg

Yay! It looks beautiful! Who was the seller if you don’t mind my asking?

Sure! It's from thediamondtrader on Ebay. They don't look to have any other 22k bands atm, but doesn't hurt to keep an eye out!

For what it's worth, the seller seems to accept offers on all listings and quickly accepted mine ;-) Free shipping and 30-day returns too

Thanks! I love eBay and it’s always nice to have a list of sellers that people like. It took me a long time to find a 22k band as I also went on a similar search. The shape of the ring and the weight was important to me and so many are so lightweight or have hardly any rise off the finger. I actually ended up with two .

Ok I love a quest... have you looked at Etsy? The first one is smaller size but seller will resize for free. Some are 5.5mm but it's hard to find wide vintage bands!

Just saw this on IG and thought of this thread. May be worth reaching out to Jewels by Grace for that wide on on the top 7C7579DE-60D8-4558-B26D-66C5472A0A99.png

Hi again, @elliefire99
Found a band that is very close: about half a millimeter wider and just one-tenth of a millimeter taller than you wanted.
Meets every other requirement.
Happy to send details later today, if you're interested.

That would be wonderful! If it's still around that is. Apologies for the delay in seeing this, but would definitely be interested!

tyty!

Hope a hefty band for your fiancé turns up soon. If not, on Etsy I spotted a Canadian shop called sheenajewellery that has 22K rings and will make them to order.

My own wedding band is vintage 22K, so I heartily approve of your choice. Some people believe in "bad juju", but I like having a ring that was made in 1895.

Totally agree! I am a sucker for things with a previous life and story. Unfortunately, no date marker on my own band, but I can imagine up its history ;)

And thanks for the Etsy rec! It is looking increasingly like we will be having one made, so super helpful!
