Hi all

I’ve viewed nearly 200 diamonds online over the last few months and I started not noticing differences!

I’m awaiting delivery of the following diamond, however I’m worried that it looks dull or milky. The company I have purchased from have confirmed with the vault the diamond is not milky but I’m worried it’s not going to sparkle!

Any advice is welcomed even if it is to just settle my nerves! Thanks!!

IMO, this diamond doesn't have good proportion for sparkle and fire. Maybe some other experts in this forum will be able to help you

Thanks medial, what would make a better proportion? I ask as it’s an excellent cut and rated a good choice on HCA scale? Thanks!

Generally, for a ideal maximize sparkle and fire, I would want less than 16% crown height (ideally 14.5-15%), between 34-35 crown angle, and 40.5-40.8 pavilion angle. However, it's just a tool to eliminate the un-ideal stones. Pictures and videos from vendor also really importance.
What HCA score you got ?

There is a great resource for proportions in the education section about which angles mean better fire.

For me, I would try to target a 40.6-40.7° PA paired with a 35-35.5° CA and get as much crown height as possible (choosing a smaller table size can help with this)...15% minimum, if not 15.5% or more.

That being said: the diamond you have chosen is cloudy, and the plot shows that the entire area under the table is the affected area (with additional clouds not shown). This may be a concern since clouds can inhibit transparency and light return.

Agree with @DejaWiz.

The page with recommended proportions is this one:

I see cloudiness from the video. At SI2 clarity, a cloud under the entire table and additional clouds not shown, I would be worried about transparency.

I agree. I would not get this diamond due to the clouds.
