I just received my .20 tcw earring jackets from Miss Katie at Whiteflash! I absolutely LOVE them! Now, I need to work on getting studs that are nice enough to wear with the jackets!

Thanks to Mara and Steel for the inspiration!

What a great idea.
How big are your studs/ specs, where did you get them from, just to put some perspective on the jackets and sizing.

Thanks D2B!!

The studs are very deeply cut 1.02 tcw, uncertified, but probably J or K I1s. They face up at 4.5 mm, so very small for their weight - I bought them ages ago before I knew anything about diamonds.

I think I could replace them with a pair of .33s and be very, very happy! In fact, I think that will be my next project!

those are amazing! i think i need a pair!

For reference, here is a macro pic of the studs I recently took - they''re horribly mismatched, but who looks at both of your ears at the same time, anyway? Right?!?

They look gorgeous on you!

they look fantasic...love them!!!

Beautiful!!! This may be a very silly question, but how do jackets stay on? Are they held in place behind the prongs? Hmmm, this gives me something to think about. I have a pair of .33 studs that could use a little boost.

Gorgeous!

hehe- I had the same thought, Zoe!

I went on WF''s site to check them out after Mara posted about hers, and couldn''t tell.

They look FABULOUS, Lauren!

they look fabulous miss lauren!!! and super cute on you. don''t you love how amazingly big they make the studs look? seriously...wonder why we didn''t all think of this before huh??? i love being an enabler!

to those wondering, the jackets are just basically round donuts of diamonds, the stud goes through the hole and then attaches to your ear. so your ear anchors them on really. the stud doesn''t snap onto the jacket or anything, so you do need your ear to hold the jackets onto your stud/ear. i have to push the backing on really tight so that the studs don''t droop. but they are fab for sure!! such an easy way to get extra bling!

Al J - you have a pair coming in today, too?!?!? What size are your studs again - silly question, but I have trouble keeping track of everyone''s stud sizes.

I freaked out when I saw the pic WF sent me - all I could think of was "what if my studs aren''t big enough to hold these things on?"

The back of the setting is slightly smaller around than the inner circle of the "donut" so they just stay put by sheer pressure. I''m thinking of having my prongs shaved down a touch, since they sit up a bit more than I thought they would, and it''s very unlikely I can convince my hubby that I''ll be needing .66 tcw''s just to fit the jackets.

HI:

Really lovely!! Good on ya.....

cheers--Sharon

Ohhhhh, I just became very industrious now that I''m home, and swapped them around my much nicer quality, bezel set .40 tcw E VS1 studs - and OMG! They''re perfect!

I promise I''ll take pics once I get home from my haircut.

Pics of the other studs;

And, requisite ear shot.

I think I like them so much better with the .40 tcw bezel set studs!
