So I received my stone from finewater. I'm so happy!
If anyone remembers, when I first came here a few months ago, I was looking into a giant bright, light and sparkly purple sapphire for an engagement ring. However after having talked with my SO we've decided to go with a family heirloom for the engagement and I would be able to have my giant purple beauty later down the road.
Enter my new little beauty! I decided instead of waiting for an indefinite time to satisfy my purple craving I'd make it happen myself. I had to dip a bit of money out from another projects savings to get the stone, but I think it was worth it.
I'm also looking for setting suggestions. All I know is either rose/white gold and something to make the stone's color pop and stand out. Its on the smaller side (6.26x5.2 so maybe something to give it a little more hand presence? I was thinking halo, but afraid it might overpower the stone as some halos can be rather clunky. Also don't want to bezel either because while the stone is bright, its not quite as light as I'd hoped and I want as much light as possible. Any suggestions?
I've attached a Gary's photos and a few of mine off just a regular old iPhone as my nice camera is out of commission at the moment. The last few pictures are more like its real color. I still don't have any gem photography skills I'm afraid.
