I can tell you that it looks gorgeous! It shines like mad, and it is sooooo white! All that matters is that you love it!

It''s gorgeous! And are you asking because you potentially can return it or because you want to make sure the price was fair?

neat, i''m asking for both reasons. If it''s not a fair price then I may seriously consider returning it.

You can compare prices then using the PRICES tab up above, and then by selecting PRICE COMPARISON. Hope that helps!

ETA: Seeing your second post...it's fairly deep, which means that it's not as nicely cut as it could be and thus it looks (i.e., faces up) smaller than it should for the carat weight.

Pretty! Was the $1099 for just the stone or both the stone and setting?

GORGEOUS!

Thanks everyone. how do you think this stone would do in a tension/floating setting? Should i not opt for this type of setting as i''m rough on my jewelery?

Gorgeous, congrats!!!

It is gorgeous...it looks nice and clear! Congratulations on finding that stunner!

Very pretty ring! Following along on Neat''s post though, the stone is a bit deep, so it may look smaller than it actually is faceup. Since you mentioned that you may consider returning the ring, just wanted to throw out the suggestion that you could check out ideal-cut diamonds in the same carat size, in a slightly lower color and/or clarity. Cost should be roughly the same, and the diamond should be very sparkly.

For example, this one could be very nice:
http://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-VS1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1193910.asp?b=16&a=12&c=77&cid=131

But of course, if you are happy with the ring, why bother returning it for something else?

I agree that you could get a better cut for the price. It sounds like you''re thrilled with the ring though, which is what really matters!

I think it''s beautiful - congrats!

Very pretty!

Make sure you really really love it before you decide to keep it. Did you priceshop at all before you purchased it? Since it sounds like you have some concerns about the value, why don''t you use the diamond pricing tool here on PS and see what similar diamonds sell for.

It looks gorgeous

It is a very nice diamond for a good price!! Congrats! But if you are a diamond snob then use this calculator: https://www.pricescope.com/cutadviser.asp

After entering the values for your diamond, it states that this is indead a good diamond; however, because of it''s cut, the maximual visual performance is not realized. It scores a 4.2 (the lower the score the better) and is outside of the "ideal cut" range for GIA and AGS ratings.

Not a bad buy for the price! :-)

No, the flourescence is not a big deal. Whether you like flourescence or not, very slight flourescence is nothing to worry about. Enjoy your beautiful ring!

That''s such a beautiful ring! Congrats! Is that white gold?

Thanks everyone for all of your feedback, thought i'd update you on what we decided. we decided to keep this gorgeous ring. I'll post some more pictures for you that are hopefully a little better. still fighting with the camera.

We've also decided on a beautiful ring guard to accent this beautiful solitare. Let me tell you though it took 5 jewlery stores to find something that would fit the unique setting of this ring but i'm glad we found one that is going to work. I will take photo's when i get it.

to whom it was that asked if this was white gold, yes it is. in the mean time - here is one of a few for you to enjoy
