Let''s get it started so we''re all ready for Thursday--what are you thankful for?

I am thankful for:

my loved ones being happy and relatively healthy and knowing I wish I could be with them if possible
the joy, laughter and love James brings to my life
my wonderful old friends who, even though they are generally bad at keeping in touch, make the extra effort just for me
the fact that my job is secure, enjoyable (most of the time!) and that I have permission to live and work in the UK for another year and a half
James helping out with the household chores

and being on the same page as me in relation to our future plans (and the fact that he''s flexible about which country we''ll live in!)
the food on our table, the roof over our head, and the heat to keep us warm this winter--not everyone is so fortunate
James'' family being warm and welcoming and having us stay with them as long as we''d like over the holidays
the little luxuries we have that we usually take for granted (like my fabbo laptop, iPod, awesome camera, upcoming Wii)

How about you? For what are you thankful?

Good topic Gwen!

Let''s see now...I''m definitely thankful for both my parents and FF''s parents, who love and spoil us almost rotten!

Thankful to finally be in a loving respectful relationship. This would have applied last year too, but since we''re about to make it "official" and all... Hehehe!!
Like you too, all the little things we''re able to do and don''t even think about. Like cable and dinners out.

Happy turkey day everyone!

The chance to spend the Holidays with my family and friends!

Thanksgiving will be with SO and 20 aunts, uncles and cousins! SQUEEEE!!!!!

X-mas will be with my family, plus grandma, aunt, uncle and SO (AND my dog!!!),

then New Years with SO's family! EEEEK!!!!!!

I am so excited. I don't need a gift or anything else, just the holidays and our cute family traditions. Oh, wait, I do want good weather, so that no one has flight cancellations or delays.

Great thread!

Some of the most important things I am thankful for...

* My family (especially my father who is still healthy after having undergone a kidney transplant 5 years ago this month) and my BF's family (the way they have embraced me--I have grown to love them as my own.)
* My BF. For the wonderful man that he is and for all that he does for me and for our future
* My brother, who is a happy newlywed and married to a wonderful woman whom I love.
* My cousin who is expecting (8 months!) after we all thought she would not be able to
* My pup who is happy and playful and so healthy.
* My job...I lucked out with this one!
* Our apartment--which is so lovely and "homey"...I feel very lucky for that
* The election

And really, my life. Everything feels so right that sometimes I just hope my bubble doesn't burst!

**ONE teeensy, weeensy thing I'd love to be thankful for, would of course be a...well you know

I don't need to repeat myself yet again.

My awesome new job! I get to do what I love again! WooHoo!
My freeking awesome boyfriend. I''m so lucky to have found someone so perfect for me and who makes me smile everyday.
My family... although many times I don''t appreciate them as much as I should, especially in these last few difficult years. I am so lucky to have a family who loves me unconditionally.
My two adorable puppies
My Grandfather''s health (he was diagnosed with colon cancer a few months ago and is now cancer free again!)

And... I''m thankful that everything has worked out in these past few months with the big move. I need to take it all in and embrace it. I am very, very thankful

My family and friends
D and our little life that we''ve built for each other

That I got veterinary
That college is nearly over for this semester

Uhh.. I like this one…

I’m definitely thankful that I still have a job! Hopefully that will be the case for the next few months…
Thankful for my family (even though I can’t be with them)!
Thankful for my wonderful, loving boyfriend!
Thankful for my wonderful friends!
Thankful for my healthy dog.
Thankful for having a good life!

Cute topic!

I am thankful for:

*My family and FI''s family - who love and support us under all circumstances!
*FI for all the things he does to make our lives completely our own and for his support, encouragement and belief in all that we do both individually and as family.
*My job and the support of all my co-workers as I transition to a management position.
*Miyagi (my kitty) who is doing very well on the treatment for his heart condition and is enjoying the best life has to offer while he is with us and for his precious reminder that life is what you make it and not something that defines or limits you.
*Tela''s (my other kitty) strong health - she''s my living reminder that Miyagi''s condition has nothing to do with my ability to be a good fur-mom.
*My home which is always warm and always has food in the cupboards; and last but not least
*My friends who have helped me to become the person I am and always encourage me to be the person I want to be.

Great thread! *should consider one on Hangout too!*

I'm thankful for a lot this year. But one that comes to mind is my FI's family. I adore them and I'm so grateful to be part of their family. They take care of me and genuinely care for me. I have never been somewhere that wasn't the home of my mom and actually felt like this is my home. But with his parents, I feel that way every time I visit them. Its the greatest feeling to have a family away from my family.

I'm also thankful for how far FI and I have come. I think back to where we were 7 Thanksgivings ago and I can't believe how much we've learned and grown together.

I'm also thankful for the little gift coming our way

.

And for my mom. Nothing specific. I just love her very much.

And my brothers who went from being my babies to being men (without my permission!) and are doing so well.

I am thankful that I have love in my life - family, friends, and my man.
I am thankful for my job.
I am thankful for my modest home.

Great thread Gwen!

I am thankful for many things but this year I am mostly thankful for:
* My NEW job (so much better than the last)
* More free time with FF
* My wonderful and loving Mom & Dad (I keep cherishing every moment with them because I know years fly by and then before I know it, I'll be
married...VERY hard for me)
* My Brother
* FF and our amazing everlasting love of 10 years
* FF finally finishing college back in May (long time waiting)
* The great childhood memories that my parents have given me
* Being blessed with the most amazing time growing up with my little angel doggie for 16 years (passed away 3 years ago)

Lastly, I am thankful for all my PS friends/family. You have all been so wonderful and supportive in my time here!!

This past year I am thankful for

- my new job....I reallllly hated my last one
- SO getting into the law school we wanted, and then landing an awesome research position
- moving to a new apartment
- being able to afford things other than just the necessities, such as being able to go out to dinner, and the occasional new bag or pair of shoes (or 5
2.gif
)
- family and friends being happy and healthy

1. My boyfriend - the single most important person in my life - who is my best friend and biggest supporter through everything.
2. My wonderful parents. They may be divorced but they love me so much and would lay down their lives for me. My family - as crazy as they might be, they are the ones who have helped me year after year and are always concerned about my well-being.
3. My six very best friends who I would not trade for the world.
4. My health. The extent of my medical expenses are pap smears and medicine to make my heart beat regularly for my COMFORT - and to think that so many around the world are dying of cancer or terminal illness. I am so unbelievably fortunate.
5. My job. Any job in this economy is good - much less a job with great salary and benefits that I actually enjoy.
6. Money. The fact is, I can go to the store and buy whatever food I want. I can put gas in my car. I can buy prescription medicines. I don''t think people realize how many people throughout the world literally cannot buy food to feed their families.
7. My life in general. I have experienced no real loss or devastation or tragedy. I have never experienced poverty or abuse or rape or fear for my life.

I have a million things to be grateful for.

Fun!

I''m thankful for:

My amazing family, as always.
My BF, the most fantastic guy I''ve ever met (even on the days when he leaves a dirty knife six inches from the sink and doesn''t get why I''m annoyed)
My friends, new and old.
My job. I may not love it (or really even like it) but it''s steady and keeps a roof over my head, food in my fridge, and health insurance.
My kitties. They make my days and nights better, even when I have to wake up 3 times each night to let them in the bedroom, kick them out, and let them in again.
I''m thankful that in 3 weeks my only debt will be student loans, and thankful that my BF is practical enough to realize that less debt is the best gift we can give to ourselves and each other. We may not share finances now, but we will eventually, and good financial habits are gifts that keep on giving.
I''m thankful for my incredible life. It may not be the flashiest, fanciest life, but it''s mine and I love it.

I am thankful for:

My boyfriend, he has done so much for me
My Father and sister who give me so much support
my cats :-)

my FFI....he is the best man I could have ever asked for...

my family and my job...THANK GOD!!

In no particular order...

Good health, job, hot and cold clean water whenever I want it, indoor plumbing, trees, choices, money, diamonds, friends, family, red oak floors, central heat and air, colors, music!, jokes, chocolate, perfume, BOOKS!, a good mind, LIFE....(you get the drift)

But the one thing that has made all of that more poignant of late has been the death of my mom, and reuniting with the great love of my life, my beloved husband. It''s all over too soon, and you don''t get endless chances, so use them well people....cherish every single day!

A wild year, to be sure....

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I am a little late, please excuse me. We had our Thanksgiving last month...

~SL.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We don''t have Thanksgiving but I am thankful every day for my husband. And our pets.

I did a little lesson with my class today about children who live in poverty and asked them what things they were thankful for that they usually didn''t think about. Then they made thank-you cards to their parents to tell them how they appreciate the little things at home. Made me feel really good.
