They were taken from a ring that was hallmarked as made in the 1950s. A total of 7 little diamonds: 1 pc 0.25 ct and 6 pcs of 0.20 ct.
They seem to be quite high in colour, except for the 0.25 which has a slight yellow tint to it but faces up nice and white.
Obviously they do not come with any certificates as they're too small to be bothered with, and would not have been cost-efficient.

My question is... I can't figure out what cut they are. Without a certificate I'm just grasping at straws so I thought I'd come here for the opinions of the learned :D
Would you call them transitional cut diamonds? Or are they just crappy MRBs and was I too gullible about the hallmark? I got them for a great price anyway and plan on a 5-stone band and a pair of dainty earrings I can wear everyday. I have 5.5 mm round moissy earrings but they seem too big for me... Anyway!

Sorry, these were the best photos I could take!

Pretty much look like modern cut stones and appear reasonably well matched visually. You could have someone make something with them once you have them tested, just to be sure they are diamonds before you spend money on mounting them. You don't need a formal GIA report, but just a gemologist with a diamond test thermal probe.

Ah yes! I had them tested at my jeweller with a Presidium diamond tester and they all came back as diamonds

Aw, won’t lie, I’m a bit sad… I had hoped they’d be transitional cuts! I’ve gotten into an old cut phase lately!

All of them have a pointed culet, so you can be pretty sure they are modern.

Darn—not what I had hoped to hear, but I'm very glad still that I asked

You could still make something really fun out of them. I love having little diamonds to play with and brainstorm about setting!

You've got a nice set that you could make an entire ensemble:
Two stone ring
Single stone pendant
Double stone drop studs

Thanks @RunningwithScissors and @DejaWiz for the lovely suggestions! I was hoping to set the 0.25 and 4 pcs of the 0.20s in a recreation Victorian 5-stone half hoop like below, but in unplated white gold:

And then just simple 3-prong martini studs for the remaining 2 pcs of the 0.20s:

Back hunting go I for some old cuts within my budget...

Can you show the piece you bought before the diamonds were taken out?
Out of curiosity?

Ah, I don't have a photo and I didn't buy the ring itself, just the diamonds! The person I bought it from repurposed the gold.
