Hi ladies!
Phew! Would you believe that I am writing to you as an engaged woman?? Yes, my darling bf (now Fiance
) proposed yesterday. So, as my post last week said, he had told me that the ring, which was originally supposed to get here on Thursday, was delayed until Monday - I was a bit suspicious, but ended up convinced because as it turns out, he's quite a good liar!! It was delayed, but only till Friday. Anyway, we had planned a picnic for Sunday a while ago (earlier in the week), but we often have picnics in Spring, so still not suspicious. We had also planned to go to the Melbourne Zoo, which I have been dying to visit for AGES, as I love animals. In hindsight I can see all these things about that morning that should have been hints, but at the time I wasn't looking for any, so I didn't notice - he woke up really early (for a sunday, and for us!) and shaved even though he wasn't particularly hairy. Also, he was unnaturally interested about where we would go for a picnic. We drove around and I was saying, "Why not just there?" and he would say, "No, let's keep driving" and eventually we went to this beautiful little reserve, which was secluded, birds chirping, etc etc. and laid out the picnic stuff. Then he kept taking photos with my digital camera, and he usually hates photos. And the dead ringer, which he is lucky didn't give it away at the time, was that when I look back at photos we took before he proposed, you can actually see the square box outline in his pocket!!!
Before we could start though he suddenly started saying sweet things, and before I knew it he was proposing!! I was so surprised I think I said, "Of course I will!" and he had to say, "you're supposed to say Yes!" Then he put the ring on my finger - a perfect fit. It was a perfect day, and a perfect place - he told me that he chose to do it in a park because so much of our first part of going out was spent in a park (wagging school, ha ha). We spent the rest of the day at the zoo, which was so us and so much fun
and then he had booked us dinner at a gorgeous restaurant on St Kilda Beach. Dinner was delicious, and we went for a walk on the beach after dinner. It was such an awesome day - the best of my life.
I really want to post pics but I don't know how to make them small enough to post - any tips?
Thanks to everyone at pricescope, even though my stay was short, it was fun while it lasted!
