I have a bad case of senioritis, and I have a big paper and 3 exams left!
23.gif

Plus I still have 10 credits to take this summer before I actually graduate! Help! How do I get back into the school thing?!

You can do it. Whoo hooo!!! Go Thing2of2; you are almost there . . . you will feel so good once you are done!!
16.gif

If you do it, I''ll do it. I have a paper to finish and 4 exams left. And then this summer 6 hours and then in fall and spring 15 hours, and then next summer 6 more hours and then in fall 2009 15 more hours! And this is providing everything goes perfectly. Did I mention I''ve already been in school for 8ish years? And will graduate with my BA with OVER 200 credit hours?

We can do it Thing2!!!

thing2of2,
You can do it, look you''re in the home stretch baby. Go for it!!!
36.gif

just think, at least you don''t have to spend the next two years writing a dissertation!
23.gif

remember to pace yourself and make sure you do something fun every day. even if it''s going out for an ice cream cone, at least you''ll have something to look forward to!

I wish I could sing my songs to you! Surely my kindergarten songs would motivate you!

Keep up the hard work! You''ve come so far and the good news is that you are almost done! Good for you!

You CAN do it!

My best advice would be to take an interest in the paper and exams. Really pour yourself into them. Good luck!

Aw, thank you Skippy, Freke, erika, Kaleigh and Miranda! I knew I could count on hearing some motivational words from my PS peeps!

Skippy, you are so right-I will be soooo happy when I''m done! Plus I can get myself a diamond something or other as a reward!

Freke, I''m with you...feel free to complain to me all you want about your papers and exams! Don''t EVEN get me started! And 200 hours?! What do you have, like 5 majors?! Impressive! I''m graduating with the bare minimum-exactly 120 hours and not a single one more! That doesn''t count all the classes I withdrew from back in thing2of2''s College: Round 1, though.

Kaleigh-thank you! I am so in the home stretch, and for a while that was motivating me, but I think the nice weather made me forget! I''m going to keep my eyes on the prize!

erica, so true-I don''t know how you crazy grad school/PhDs do it! My problem is all of the sudden I want to do only fun things, but you''re right-one fun thing a day won''t hurt!

Miranda, I would love to hear a kindergarten song or two right now!
3.gif
You''re right-I am going to really do this paper right-it''s so much more fun to get into it than it is to half-a** it!

Alright, I have to get to bed-8am exam tomorrow and I''m going to wake up early to study beforehand, too! I''m too old to pull all nighters now!
5.gif
Thanks again ladies-I really need a push to get me through! I''m going to power through-no slacking now!

If you get straight A''s, I''ll let you come and babysit precious...

Ugh I have sympathy! I have 11 exams in the next week and a bit and they start tomorrow and I''m sitting here on PS. I am so sick of studying!! Once it hits 11am here I''m hitting the books again! Best of luck with them all.

Thing, I will sing Eye of the Tiger for you if you want, it worked for Del!

Bribe yourself! Small rewards for each thing you finish, and promise yourself a BIG reward (something shiny?) for when you''re done done done.

Bribe yourself! Small rewards for each thing you finish, and promise yourself a BIG reward (something shiny?) for when you''re done done done.

I think the reward system works really well! If you break it down into smaller chunks it''s not quite as intense.

First I made a big timeline and set out when I would finish studying for each exam and how many hours were alloted each day to each exam.
Then, I broke it up into each class session and would finish 3 classes in a sitting My reward was 30 min. of tv or some time on PS.
And my ultimate prize...my Leon is ready in a week or so!!!

YOU CAN DO IT!!!
36.gif

I wish I had some good advice, but what ended up helping me get through was thinking how proud everyone would be when I finished. It helped because not only did it let me focus an what good comes from all the work, but it also reminded me that my doing well affected other people positively.

Thanks Indy and scarlet! I do plan on a lil'' something shiny when I''m finished! I''m thinking a .5ish ACA necklace or maybe a ring...I''m going to have to try the small bribes this week because I am being so unbelievably bad lately!

scarlet, tell me about your Leon! I need diamond motivation! And what are you finishing? Graduate or undergrad?

Such a good point! I''m the last one of my siblings to finish college and I know my parents are super proud of me for going back! I''m sure they''ll be so happy when I finish! Thanks bih!

I definitely do the tiny bribes thing. "ok, when I finish reading 5 more pages, I get to play one game of computer solitaire" "when I finish this book, I can go on the internet"

It breaks it into little chunks and helps me get through it. And sometimes, it was just getting started that was my problem. Once I get on a roll, I''m fine and I don''t need to stop for whatever little prize I promised my self.

Definitely keep your eyes on the price ( and I don''t mean Surfgirls ring lol!). You have worked so hard for this... its almost over!!!

No...come back and whine with me! I need fellow exam taking people that I can rant and moan to

. You''d think that I''d be more motivated seeing as my exams start in exactly 13 hours and ten minutes-crap

Lol. I wish. I actually have an associates degree and a half (long story) in culinary arts(a total of about 115 credit hours). So about 18 credits from that debacle will transfer to my current degree track. And the one associates degree is from one school with the other half being from another school where I dropped out halfway through my second associates. The first one was in Culinary arts while the second was going to be in Baking and Pastry Arts.
We need 128 credits to graduate from here so officially I will have 140 or so credits that will somehow apply to my degree but closer to 210 technically. So, one bachelors degree in Psychology coming right up.

Thing2. It''s a 1.66 antique style cushion in a 1.8mm pave band and buttercup head (a la the infamous tiger). I''m graduating on May 18th with my law degree. It''s been a long long road, but totally worth it! You''ll DO FINE! Just think past the rough times...
35.gif

I know how you feel and guess what? I still have two semesters to go!! Just remind yourself of how hard you''ve worked, not so long to go!

I''m actually an internet break time briber, too! I just need to get going on this paper-it''s due tomorrow and I haven''t even started it! It''s smaller than I originally thought, though-only 8 pages. I can do a semi-good 8 pages in about 4 hours, so I think I''ll do half tonight and half tomorrow morning. After replying to this thread, I am outta here!

Thanks, Maisie! Hahaha-I wish the prize was surf''s e-ring! I wouldn''t be complaining if that was the case!

Okay, I''m ready to whine, then! I don''t want to write my paper! WAAAAH! It''s your turn-bring your whining on!

In less whiny news, I had 2 exams today, and I think they went well! Good luck on your exams!

You''re almost there, hon! I love the bribe system, it works so well. I used to bribe myself with microwave popcorn and York Peppermint Patties.

Just push through it. I write big, long to do lists and take some serious delight in crossing out every single thing that I finish. It really does feel good.

Good luck!

WOW! You are not messing around when it comes to edu-ma-cation, Freke! At least you''re on the home stretch now!

I''m getting my bachelor''s in Psych, too! Not sure what I''m going to do with it, though...I''ll just keep my same job for now!

That''s not so long! Are you going to take classes this summer? If I couldn''t finish this summer I don''t know what I would do!
