Bribe yourself! Small rewards for each thing you finish, and promise yourself a BIG reward (something shiny?) for when you''re done done done.

Ugh I have sympathy! I have 11 exams in the next week and a bit and they start tomorrow and I''m sitting here on PS. I am so sick of studying!! Once it hits 11am here I''m hitting the books again! Best of luck with them all.

I think the reward system works really well! If you break it down into smaller chunks it''s not quite as intense.
First I made a big timeline and set out when I would finish studying for each exam and how many hours were alloted each day to each exam.
Then, I broke it up into each class session and would finish 3 classes in a sitting My reward was 30 min. of tv or some time on PS.
And my ultimate prize...my Leon is ready in a week or so!!!
YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I wish I had some good advice, but what ended up helping me get through was thinking how proud everyone would be when I finished. It helped because not only did it let me focus an what good comes from all the work, but it also reminded me that my doing well affected other people positively.

11 exams?! What am I complaining about?! I am officially going to stop whining!
Lol. I wish. I actually have an associates degree and a half (long story) in culinary arts(a total of about 115 credit hours). So about 18 credits from that debacle will transfer to my current degree track. And the one associates degree is from one school with the other half being from another school where I dropped out halfway through my second associates. The first one was in Culinary arts while the second was going to be in Baking and Pastry Arts.Date: 5/6/2008 1:33:13 AM

Freke, I''m with you...feel free to complain to me all you want about your papers and exams! Don''t EVEN get me started! And 200 hours?! What do you have, like 5 majors?! Impressive! I''m graduating with the bare minimum-exactly 120 hours and not a single one more! That doesn''t count all the classes I withdrew from back in thing2of2''s College: Round 1, though.

Thanks Indy and scarlet! I do plan on a lil'' something shiny when I''m finished! I''m thinking a .5ish ACA necklace or maybe a ring...I''m going to have to try the small bribes this week because I am being so unbelievably bad lately!
scarlet, tell me about your Leon! I need diamond motivation! And what are you finishing? Graduate or undergrad?

I definitely do the tiny bribes thing. ''ok, when I finish reading 5 more pages, I get to play one game of computer solitaire'' ''when I finish this book, I can go on the internet''
It breaks it into little chunks and helps me get through it. And sometimes, it was just getting started that was my problem. Once I get on a roll, I''m fine and I don''t need to stop for whatever little prize I promised my self.

No...come back and whine with me! I need fellow exam taking people that I can rant and moan to. You''d think that I''d be more motivated seeing as my exams start in exactly 13 hours and ten minutes-crap

We need 128 credits to graduate from here so officially I will have 140 or so credits that will somehow apply to my degree but closer to 210 technically. So, one bachelors degree in Psychology coming right up.

I know how you feel and guess what? I still have two semesters to go!! Just remind yourself of how hard you''ve worked, not so long to go!
