I actually got it a couple weeks ago, but forgot to make a post here. I've wanted one for awhile, but didn't think it was going to get to happen for a few more years. On our way home from vacation last month, we stopped off for lunch, and there was a jeweler a couple doors down from the resturaunt. I decided to peek in just for kicks. They only had a few estate pieces, but one caught my eye right away. I asked to try it on, even though I assumed it would be way above my price range, but was pleasantly surprised when it was a steal! I had no trouble getting my husband to agree to the purchase. I was told it was an old mine cut, but after looking online, asking here, and checking with my jeweler brother-in-law, it's more characteristic of a old european cut, although maybe an early one. Anyway, here she is!
Ring size 4.5, Carat unknown, 5.2 mm width, color unknown, there is an inclusion I can only see with a loupe.

Sometimes I wear her with a simple yellow gold band.

Other times I wear her with this white gold and diamonds piece that was also an estate piece I got last spring.

Really pretty, I love the design of the setting and the diamond is a nice size too. Great find!

WOW!! It's got the body shape of an OMC and the faceting of an OEC. What A FIND!! I hope you enjoy it for many years to come in good health and happiness.

Ah hello gorgeous! What a lovely stone and pretty setting :kiss2: bet she makes you smile every time you look at her

You lucky lady! What a beautiful stone & her setting is perfect! I’m assuming the setting is original to her? It’s lovely & chunky, so can withstand the tests of time I expect. More pictures!

So pretty! What a great find! I would love some guesses as to what the color is as it’s a beautiful color!

Yummy and chunkalicious! :kiss2: Welcome to the old cut club. Where we love the old and the romantic stones that have experience beyond our years. If only they could talk. Enjoy your old cut beauty in health and blingy happiness.

Just a caveat...it's addictive. :Up_to_something:

I am not sure if the setting is original, but there does seem to be wear on the prongs, so it wouldn't surprise me if it is. I love the simple elegance of the setting that let's the stone stand out.

I can't remember what she guessed the color at. I think it might be around a J.

Wow! Absolutely gorgeous. Congratulations and welcome to the club! Yours is a stunning member!

Oh!

Noticing how the V cut in the band makes it disappear next to the stone despite the real width...

Beautiful find!

Very pretty stone. It’s lucky you knew what you were looking for. I wonder how many people have skipped over this very lovely girl. Congratulations! And it is in the perfect setting for you to really focus on her.
