Hi all - I find myself once again in the colored stones forums, looking for testimonials/experiences! :)

Has anyone had any experience -- good/bad/otherwise with ordering from Ivy & Rose for stones? Either existing on their website or ones they sourced?

I'm torn because they have some things like this tourmaline pair seen belowtourpair.jpeg

-- they're a nice color, and they're HUGE, and they're reasonably priced for the size. In fact, many stones on their website "feel" reasonable to even underpriced for the size and level of (non) treatment many have had. o_O

That said, I know there's no such thing as a free lunch, per se, so ... guess I'm wondering if I'm missing something blatant. They have seemed great, kind, and responsive in any communications I've had with them thus far!

I haven’t ordered gems but I’ve bought a pre loved setting, sent them the sapphire from Australia which they mounted and then received back the finished ring. Excellent. I’ve also bought a pre loved set of opal and diamond earrings, again received here in Australia no problems. Here on PS a number of other members have been very happy with their settings and their work so I think you can be comfortable dealing with them. I found their photos very accurate to real life. I’m not sure if they offer a return period with their loose gems, just ask.

I really like the settings from ivy and rose, though I've never purchased a loose stone. But I've considered them for champagne diamonds, and have zero qualms about buying from them.

I’ve purchased settings and recently a large aquamarine from them and had no issues. The aqua was reasonably priced and very nicely cut. I’ve had my eye on one of their large sapphires for a while for an upcoming project and have no worries about purchasing from them when the time comes. I think they can keep their prices reasonable because of the massive quantity that they sell.

WOW. Aren't you afraid those will break during setting?

They probably purchase their pre fabricated settings from a Chinese manufacturer. You can find the same exact settings on eBay sold by Chinese dealers. I have some of them in 10k and silver, that I purchased on eBay for very low prices. “Ivy and Rose” seem to only work in 14, 18k and platinum. However, this is probably why their settings are so inexpensive. I saw some nice oec diamonds on their site. Their prices seem very competitive.

Thanks for the information so far, all! That's very helpful. :)

Re: breaking during setting- I wasn't necessarily considering these in particular, but just some larger stones from Ivy and Rose in general

Would you mind to link a couple of the eBay settings you have found please? :D

I’ve worked with Ilya and have bought from him and I have had zero issues. He was emailing me answers to my questions while on vacation— I had to tell him to stop working and enjoy his life lol.
