J/K colored diamonds owners, could you post the photos of your J/K colored diamonds (along with their sizes)? Thought that it will be very helpful to help newbies like me. I did a google search but did not see many real life photos of how a J or K diamond actually looks like (I have posted the most useful image I can find so far). I figured that this thread might be the best place to start.

@whitewave (please let me know if you wish me to take down this photo in this post) has an amazing HPD K color from How true is this statement about color? and this made me change my mind about K color.

Here are pics of my K & L OECs and my K RB. All GIA. RB is 1.32 ct, OECs are just slightly larger (1.4-something and 1.5-something, the K is the 1.4-something).

I’m not color sensitive at all it’d seem... my K RB used to be next to higher colored pears and I couldn’t see enough of a difference to really notice/ care.

There are a few, I think this is the main one:

798715797466
1.5 ct J VS2 cushion. It looks pretty white to me and I am not color sensitive. I think it all depends on the person and what your eye perceives. Many diamonds even with very visible color, if cut well are stunning in person.

This one is my previous ER (I ended up exchanging it out for the 1.5ct J)
1.71 ct K VS2
The color was more easily visible in certain lighting

It’s true. This ring made me change my mind about K color. I have videos of it on IG user yatcube.

Occasionally, I can see tint, but it’s not enough to bother me. I’m like, “oh look, there’s the tint.” (No judgement)

@soxfan has a 3 stone K color.

I do not think you can assess how much "tint" is in a certain grade based on participants photos. You really need to go see different color grades in person and then come back here for your diamond search.

Yes! I second this thought. You really need to see the color in person to see how you feel about it. All Js and Ks do not look the same. There is a range as you go lower in color and it also heavily depends on the cut of the diamond, with better cut showing less tint in most cases.

Happy to oblige.

Some recent photos of my GIA 4.93 J VS1 OEC aka Bubbalah.

In real life is the best way to appreciate color IMO and photos can only show so much. I am very color sensitive and see her in all her glory. And for me, J is my sweet spot for OECs. For MRBs I need higher color but in OECs J does it for me. Though, IMO, each stone needs to be evaluated individually and on its own merits as blanket statements/generalizations only go so far.

Here's mine. Kvs2 studs, 6mm (.8ish carats each) set in 18k yg settings.

On my ears they look pretty white and they have amazing fire but the tint definitely shows up on closer inspection. I confess to being horrendously color insensitive.

Thank you so much! I love the chunkiness of the facets too. It’s an antique cushion and grace found the stone and made the setting :)

LEMME SEE!!!

Got a chance to try a 2.88 J Si1 ACA last week. I returned it because I’m not comfortable with the tint. It looks super white under certain lighting but I can see some tint in white bathroom & laundry room light.

Thanks munchee. As you can see, I am much less color sensitive with OECs. Here is the thread.
