Jeweler wait time

Hi, just wondering if this is a normal wait time. I took my ring to the jewelers on January 14th for cleaning and she told me my diamond was chipped. She told me to file a claim with jewelers mutual and that she could help me find a new diamond. She told me to leave the ring with her, which I did. I filed a claim the next day. Jewelers mutual informed me that they contacted her on the 18th asking for an estimate of how much it would cost to replace. It’s almost 3 weeks and she still hasn’t provided them with the information. Is this normal? Do I need to be patient or should I go pick up the ring and find a new jeweler? Thanks
 
I'd go pick up my ring. I would expect she should have answered them sooner. At the least, it's poor customer service. She has your ring, and is keeping you from moving forward with your claim. Honestly, I wouldn't use her to replace my diamond just for those reasons.

Just curious, did she show you the chip when you dropped off the ring?
 
Thanks for your reply. I’m worried since it’s taking her so long to reply it will also take a long time to actually get a new stone and set it. She did show it to me. I’ve used her before and have never had service like this. JM said I could switch as long as she hasn’t done anything that would incur any fees
