Jewelry Storage Question

Good PM everyone,

Does anyone have any idea which jewelry storage is the best so 14K WG does not tarnish? Is it a jewelry box (a la The Mrs Box), a regular jewelry box housed with other jewelry? Or a ziploc bag?

Serious question, please don't be rude.

Thanks in advance :)

I’ve never had an issue with white gold tarnishing. I just make sure to keep pieces separated so that they don’t scratch each other.

If it’s gold and diamonds, you can keep them in whatever box or bag is convenient for you. (Pearls, opals and other gems could use some more careful storage.)

Thank you, this is very helpful. I was under the impression that WG especially if 14K turned yellow over time.

Ah, the finish may wear off over time and it may need to be re-dipped in rhodium, is that what you are thinking? It should not tarnish though like silver does.

I like my Wolf jewelry box, the lining is supposed to reduce tarnish over time.

white gold isn't always 'white', as it has rhodium plating over the gold (which wears off) to make it so 'white'. Thus it doesn't 'tarnish', but simply loses some/most of the rhodium plating, which can be re-done over and over and over. Not terribly expensive to do either.
