Jim Hjelm Occassions sizing experiences?

For those of you who''ve had experiences with Jim Hjelm bridesmaid dresses, how did you find the sizing? I''m curious partly because most friends who''ve had experience shopping for bridesmaid dresses say that they almost always come in much larger than expected. I''m also curious because I''m normally a street size 4, but the size 12 sample fit quite well (I expected to be 1-2 sizes larger, not 4). Thanks!

Two of my bridesmaids tried on our bridesmaids dress last weekend and they were both at least 2 sizes bigger than their street clothes...

last summer i wore a jim hjelm bridesmaids dress in my friend''s wedding. it is the same size i normally wear and it fit me just fine (i only had to have it hemmed). i think it mainly has to do with how your body fits in with the proportions of the size chart. some of the bridesmaids had to get several sizes bigger because of their bust, butt, etc and they had to be altered.

The dress I tried on was a chiffon halter, and quite forgiving in the belly/arms/bust/butt area. Maybe it''s because I''m not familiar with bridal sizing, but I was a little surprised that because of my rib cage alone (it''s the only area that I didn''t have much wiggle room), I had to go from a street size 4, to a dress size 12. The salon didn''t carry all the Jim Hjelm styles, and the one I''d like to order is similar, though not exactly the same (the bride is letting us each choose our own style). Hence my trying to figure out his sizing.

Anyhow, here''s what I''m thinking of ordering, in raspberry. It''s floor length.

I have JH BM dresses for my wedding. we haven''t gotten them yet, but they gave us a sizing charts with bust, hip, waist measurements for the collection. And we measured ourselves and then chose the size. My smaller girls (sizes 2-6) were pretty true to their normal sizes. But my bigger girls had to go up a size or two because one of the measurements demanded a much larger size than the rest. It was it a tad annoying because it meant for example the chest would fit perfectly but a ton woul dhave to taken in on the hips and waists. Or some combination like that.
