I was going to wait to post this until I receive the bracelet in person in a week or two, but I noticed the pics are already up on Julia's website so thought I should go ahead and claim it.
I am very...well, relieved really (and of course excited to see it), that this bracelet is finally complete and on its way to me. This project actually started life as a 3 stone ring back at end of 2009, but after some consideration, and coming upon a number of gems that I thought worked really nicely together, it developed into a 5 stone bracelet instead.
After a number of earlier designs and different influences etc were passed back and forth, Julia came up with this Iris flowers & vines design motif at the start of this year, and the idea 'grew' from there
It is Argentium with 18k yellow gold, with the following gems:
- RB lavender spinel, 6.2mm, cut by BB
- oval Mozambique blue tourm, 7.5mm, cut by BB
- long oval Tanzanian purple spinel, 8.3mm, cut by Gene F
- oval Aquamarine, 7.5mm, cut by BB
- RB pink spinel, 6.2mm, but by Gene F
The colours are intended to resemble those of Iris flowers..
At some points the progress on the bracelet was slow going, and a couple of deadlines for completion weren't met - but I didn't really mind as I wasn't in a huge rush due to other projects on the burner - and mainly, I really wanted to give JKT the space she needed to take the bracelet at her own pace and not rush the process - as you can see, its quite a detailed design and certainly an intricate end product.
There are many pretty photos, so I hope folks enjoy them, cheers for looking
