I did. I looked through their stock and this one seemed like the least horrible window, inside my budget :/ It has the saturation I'm looking for.
In that case definitely look elsewhere. Maybe gemfix will have something?
A few beautiful pads, way out of my budget [/1QUOTE]
What is your budget? Would you be open to an orange pink sapphire? If having the pad designation is important then you need to be filtering for stones with a report from AGL or GIA saying it is a pad. Or negotiating for the vendor to secure the report before you purchase. There are two reasons for this 1 the line between an orange pink sapphire and a pad is pretty blurry, people call all sorts of stuff pads which are actually just orange pink sapphires -- mainly because they can chatge a lot more that way. 2 sapphires in this colour spectrum ar often diffused (irradiated to improve their colour). Once this happens they lose most of their value, but you cant detect it reliably without a lab report.
Have you looked at finewstergems? If you can get anywhere near the price of their smaller pad then it might be worth asking if their is ant flexability in the price.
I'm looking at this one
also interested in some on The Natural Sapphire company. They all have imperfections though, but the prices are low. I definitely need some help.
It's too bad because a lot of the ones with windows have lovely color and saturation!I love this color!
But you can find windowed Padparadschas less than 1 ct for 500 $ and less. $ 1225 is a bit to much imo.
But the color is great - in my opinion.
Padparadscha rough is very rare and often quite flat pebbles - result are many windowed stones.
