Hello ladies!
I''ve been lurking around for the past couple weeks and thought it was time to introduce myself.
Recently my BF of 3 years gave me the go-ahead to start looking at rings--woohoo!!
He wants the actual proposal to be a surprise, but he''s letting me pick out exactly what I want since he knows I''m picky about the jewelry I wear LOL. And also, he knows nothing about diamonds (don''t worry, I''ll educate him prior to actual shopping!) and avoids jewelry stores at all costs, so he would be happy just to buy what I want and not have to worry about getting something I don''t like. Which works out well for me! He''s started saving, but it''ll still be awhile before he''s got enough for what he wants to spend on a ring for me. He did give me a bit of a timeline; I can be expecting a proposal next spring/early summer. I can''t wait! Until then, I plan on doing A LOT more diamond research and price comparisons. I''ve got the basics down but after my PS-lurking I find myself picking up more and more good info.
I already have a pretty good idea of what I want...I''m thinking asscher or EC (what can I say, I LOVE step cuts) set in platinum, either with tapered baguettes or just a solitaire. Anyways, sorry for the novel.
Also, just wanted to say that I think it''s really great how supportive everyone on this forum is, it''s cool that there are so many nice people to chat about diamonds/rings/being a LIW with!
