Good evening everyone, or good morning/afternoon to some! Some of you may know that I bought this ring but decided to return it. I was just wondering, for my curiosity, if anyone else thinks it more a mrb than a transitional? It has the teeniest tiniest cullet, a pin prick, and isn’t like my engagement ring which is a very typical transitional! Excuse the nail polish, it’s a kiddie peel off one after a manicure from my daughter!

It looks like a modern brilliant diamond with a huge table common from the 50's to 90's.
A still closer up photo will work better

The large table creates such large table reflection, producing chunkiness in the middle. This can fools untrained eyes thinking it is a OEC or tranny. Some call it the early modern brilliant, though I do not like using that term.

Bad bright but not brilliant. The big table makes it bright but with too little contrast and scintillation.

Thanks for all the info! It just wasn’t hitting me as a transitional! It has a huge sparkle, and is a really clear stone, here are some more images. My camera isn’t amazing! B874D5C3-C7E7-4BBB-8B99-E5967B3662A0.png

It is loosely a 60:60 table:depth - except the table is closer to 65%. So probably 64:59.
The pavilion angle is around 41 degrees and the crown angle is on the shallow side. A cutting style that was common from the 1950's to about 2000.

Wow that’s amazing information! It hasn’t been returned yet, I’m waiting for the seller to arrange shipping. It’s strange, I know I shouldn’t like it, but it’s growing on me! It sparkles like something else. I love learning more, even though I’m on a bling ban now!! Only for the colour it would probably be staying with me....

It does have quite a bit of sparkle. Hey, if you like it, keep it!

It may work in a reset, as a centre of a three stone or a pendant! I hope it was worth the money at least, if I hang on to it it might suit the reset!

Probably against my better judgement I’ve decided to keep it! I may regret it!

Yay! I really really like it too!!! So pretty.

K.. The new videos and photos now reveal relatively short LGH and fat arrows. Despite the large table, it does appear tranny-ish. I like it.

@flyingpig I think you’re right, I think my poor pictures made it seem more of a round brilliant, when I got better pictures I think it showed it more! It just shows how important good images are, and how poor my iPhone is compared to my husbands android!! Here are the pictures just for reference!
