Luvpugs, I''m so sorry about your pug going blind but I''m glad you guys made it through! Pugs are so strong and determined that they can get through anything. I don''t know about a baby pug either since they are pretty active, but I agree with Justageek that maybe a rescue pug would be a good way to go?
Justageek, I''m so sorry to hear about your cousins pug. If that had happened to my pug, I would be in prison right now because I would have killed the neighbor. I agree that people shouldn''t let their animals roam free, there are so many cruel people out there. I never let my dog out alone and she''s always on a leash.
Stories like this make me want to respond and vent a bit, even if a little OT. Apologies in advance.Date: 12/19/2007 12:57:53 AM

He was the sweetest little pug who loved everyone that came in the door, even after having been hurt so bad by people. I don''t want to turn this into a sob story, but this story shocks me so much that I have to let it out once in a while or my disgust for people overwhelms me. When he was an adult pug, he got out of the house and got inside a neighbor''s backyard. Now, I know this is trespassing, but the neighbor got out a GOLF CLUB and whacked the pug in the head. He ended up losing one eye and having permanent damage to his other eye, but lived the rest of his life happily (after some rehabilitation), despite his later health problems. My cousin thought about prosecuting this person for a while, but eventually decided not to because his dog had been trespassing without his collar and license.
OMG! He is priceless! I LOOOOOOVE that face!Date: 12/19/2007 1:25:55 PM

Ok, so here''s one more. Sometimes I think the dog looks like a pig (she definitely snorts like one) or I''ll call her bunny. So I decided to play around in photoshop and this is what I came up with... haha

The really funny thing was when we took her to get spayed. They have to shave their bellies....and her skin underneath is spotted too! Like kitty freckles!Date: 12/19/2007 4:10:45 PM

LuvPugs -- your pug sounds like such a fighter! Grumpy Olympic swimming pug . I agree about the baby pugs... they can be really hyper and energetic... maybe a nice adult rescue pug?
beesknees -- look at that adorable face!! I don''t know how I could avoid just following him around and taking pictures all day
ETA spelling mistakes:
Confession: This isn''t actually my pug. This is a photo of my neighbor''s pug, posted in honor of my cousin''s pug (who I have no pictures of). He was recently put to sleep after a bout with cancer, problems with his anal sac (sorry for this detail), and arthritis. He was the sweetest little pug who loved everyone that came in the door, even after having been hurt so bad by people. And so, you probably don''t do this, but PS-ers, please don''t let your pets out -- not everyone loves or cares about them as much as we do
OK. I''m done blabbing about this horrible event--
I do love to see doggie photos -- would you kindly mind sharing, LuvPugs and beesknees?? I have two mutts back at home (German Shepherd mix and a neither-I-nor-the-vet-has-a-clue mix), but I only have cellphone pics and I don''t think I can email them???
