It is kind of sad that a 6.01ct Aquamarine would disappear around my neck if I set it plainly in a pendant! :roll2::lol-2:

So, rather than spending big money on a larger stone as seen in Jeff White's latest Gem Scoop maildrop (the biggest is allegedly a 60ct cut stone), I am going to set my Colorado Aqua in a brooch pendant setting instead.

Here is a video of the said cut stone, 6.01ct, 12.33 x 9.37 mm in size:

Here are the inspirational setting ideas for the brooch pendant - I particularly like the elongated oval shape.

The final design is likely to be an elongated oval with paved diamonds radiating from the centre stone which will be bezel-set in Rose Gold.

This piece would be part of the Aqua parure that I am building (with a natural blue Topaz in one of the pieces :Up_to_something::lol-2:).

Probably won't be made until next year or beyond.

Thanks for reading.

Gorgeous stone.

Nothing is more beautiful than a fine art deco style mounting. Looking forward to your finished project.

i think im at risk of being about to wet my pants in excitment !
a brooch :kiss2:

Oh my goodness, that is going to be fabulous!!! I can't wait for it to be done and I can drool over it.

Hi peeps,

It may not be a brooch-pendant but a ring-pendant instead.

I don't have many evening wear that I can wear a brooch as they tend to be lace/beaded/patterned.

However, I am more likely to wear a ring.

Thinking of a ballerina style ringdant design. I have always wanted a ballerina ring and this stone is just the right size for it.

Sadly I don't wear brooches that often.

However, there is definitely a brooch pendant in the making with a set of Ruby cabochons as they can't be anything else except for a brooch pendant.

i was thinking last night if only we lived in the same town
i bet there are plenty of tops on your wardrobe that would suit a brooch
so im so happy to hear this
and do aquas fade in daylight ? are they night time jewles ?

In order to wear a brooch, I would need to wear it on a solid single garment, and I don't have many of them.

I wore my Aqua and Morganite ring for an afternoon tea today with a friend at a posh hotel. The ring is not very blingy/flashy, not to me anyway, so I wear it day and night for dressier events.

To me, a well cut Aqua has a lot of sparkle. Don't think they fade, not the ones I have anyway.
