Hello
I am currently considering the purchase of a 5 carat oval diamond K Color, VS2 Clarity, Strong Blue Fluorescence, set in Rose Gold. The stone is a beautiful cut and has super reflective properties. I can't tell if the setting is casting color into the stone or if the body of the stone has the warmth in it. I have considered having it reset in white gold. My question and concern is the value of the stone, I do not want to over pay for it. Also, I am concerned the strong fluorescence devalues the stone. I would appreciate any comments or recommendations.
Thank you so much.

Can you post the certification, idealscope or aset, and price?

Here is the information I have:

Oval Brilliant
15.00x8.94x5.60
4.72 carat
K Color
VS2
Excellent Polish
Good Symmetry
Strong Blue Fluorescence
Price over $45,000

With fancy shapes like oval, it is hard to assess without photos and videos. The oval can have a dark bow-tie and it is not possible to tell without visuals.

Post the cert as well. If for some reason you don't want to show the cert no., you can black out all instances of it first. The cert lab matters too, GIA vs less reputable lab.

The strong blue fluor can actually help a lower color stone look whiter so probably isn't the concern here. Strong fluor negatively impacts pricing on colorless strones the most.

Based on what you have posted so far, the 'Good' symmetry bothers me more.

I’m not too bothered by the good symmetry. My Asscher now has a good symmetry, and the old I’m getting is also good. But they both have great light performance, and honestly look very flattering. I’d say you def should see in person, or some videos at the least.

Thank you, good suggestion.

We would need pictures to assess at all.

It’s impossible to say without pics or video

Is there a GIA report?
The price is quite low.....maybe possible...but it is a bit of a red flag.
If the stone is graded by other than GIA...that could explain the price....
