I am trying to determine whether or not I should keep or return this .25 ctw band in WG as a wedding band, with 11 stones. I think it was H-I, don''t remember clarity. I got what seems to be a very good price on it ($200 w/o tax) at a discount department store, and I''ve got a week left to decide. I''m not sure if it goes with my e-ring, and I was originally looking for an alternating band like the ones in this thread:

I''m kinda on the fence about it, because it''s not super brilliant in all lighting (does great in fluorescent, terribly outside.) It''s slightly lower profile than I would like and I''m afraid that the channel setting isn''t as secure as it could be. I can''t decide if I should return it and put the $200 towards a band I would like better or if I should wait to buy a band later like the ID jewelry bands for $500. I realize it''s not a huge amount but I just would like something that I won''t feel bad about 1 or 2 years later. I definitely can''t spend $1000 on an ACA from WF right now. The nice thing about it is that it''s not an eternity band, since those tend to be uncomfortable on me.

Here''s the photo of the two together using a flash in the bathroom. It''s much flashier in this photo than it is in real life.

Thanks for your thoughts and I''m going to try to post some better photos as well.

Sorry for the fat fingers and hand - hard to take a photo of one hand while holding a heavy camera in the other!

The pair on a crazy glue lid. The sparkles are under indoors lighting plus flash. Funny but it photographs better than it looks in real life. The band width is under 3mm. I don''t mind the gap, since I figure I will probably wear it on its own mostly and I don''t want to scratch up the plat e-ring. Although I kinda would like a thicker, blingier band to wear on its own.

Even though it was only $200, it''s not a good deal if you''re not 100% satisfied. Better to save up and buy another band that you adore.

If you are unhappy with it and have doubts I would return it and wait until you can get what you want.

It is very pretty but if you keep it I'd wear it on a different finger.
It does not fit well against your beautiful solitaire.
I feel its straight sides take away from the lovely fluid curves of the main ring.

Just my 2 cents.

Return it.

1. You don't like it.
2. It doesn't go with your beautiful solitaire.

Okay, reason 2 is my opinion, maybe not yours, so you don't have to listen to it. But you do have to listen to reason 1.

If I were you I would wear that lovely solitaire alone on my (that is, your) right hand and a band I (that is, you) REALLY love on my (that is, your) left hand.

Edited to add: Basically, I'm agreeing with Moh.

I probably wouldn''t wear it with the e-ring for the most part. I don''t feel comfortable wearing the e-ring on a daily basis, primarily because it is beautiful. So I''m looking for something that I can wear everyday that if I lose, I won''t feel as bad about.

Sadly I''m pretty absent-minded so I''m pretty much counting on losing a ring I wear everyday somewhere so I''d rather not spend as much. But don''t worry, the e-ring is insured. To be frank, I actually left it in a bathroom once and got it back after a day, but that is another story. Hence, my fears about wearing it daily. Now I just try to enjoy it on days when I''ve slept the full 8 hours!!!

I''m just sentimental about these things, but this is going to be your wedding ring. It should be a ring you love and will look forward to wearing for the rest of your life.

ok, pretty much i agree with everyone here.

That''s true. I guess I was expecting to upgrade regardless. It''s funny because It''s actually been a year since we''ve been married so I''m not really in a huge rush to find the band. I just have a craving :) Don''t really expect to find a band that matches my ring exactly and I don''t want the curved bands. I need to take some photos of alternating bands with my e-ring.

I actually got a fantastic right hand ring from the same dept store that I really DO love, also for a decent price. I can see the inclusions in the emeralds but the color is great. On my favorite (and most convenient ring holder and finger stand-in, the crazy glue)

I love it! Let me know if you decide you don''t want THAT ring and I will take it off your hands. Literally...

Don''t worry, I have zero doubts about this one. I even bought some more green clothing to go with it, not like I needed any more clothes

I guess I''ll just wait until the real thing comes along for my band. If you go look at your local basement discount retailer, you might be able to find one of your own. I got mine a few months back as a Valentine''s day present for myself. I call it my "rich lady''s ring" cos it looks pricey but is far less than my e-ring but with greater spread and oomph.

I''ll say my camera''s flash is way too strong though. In real life, it looks good, but not like that. I guess it''s what Wink was talking about - the camera matters, the angle matters, the lighting matters.

The color of the stones are not quite as teal but rather a deeper clover color, somewhere in between the two green shades to the left of the center line in the palette here/. And the milgrain oval around the stones isn''t quite symmetrical but overall I love it.

Yeah, gotta go return the other ring. It''s not quite unique enough.
