So the SO and I haven''t been able to spend much time together due to work schedules and other conflicts (we live together so I basically see him when he gets home which is late, and kiss him goodbye in the morning when I leave for work). So we decided to try and take some time together every morning to get healthy. When we started going out I was in great shape and so was he (he did MMA and Jui jitsu) but after going out to eat alot and not making time for the gym we really let ourseves go, so we decided to get in shape together. A rousing workout in the morning before I go to work which I think would be fun and good for both of us. I researched some DVDs online cause going to the gym doesn''t fit in our schedules and found one that had really good results and was only 20 minutes a day. I got Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shed, (or something) and HOLY COW! we did the first one, the easiest one and we were both wiped! It literally kicked our butts! I wanted to know if any of you ladies have tried it or any other good dvds cause i think it would be fun to mix it up!

I''m excited to do this cause I think the proposal is coming soon (the next few months) and I want to be able to spend time with him, and get healthy and look good and all that jazz!
 
The Shred is tough!!!

I''ve been doing this workout for about a month now. I don''t know if I''ve lost any weight or inches, but I feel stronger for sure. It''s funny, when I first got the DVD I thought I was in okay shape so I started with level two. I couldn''t do it!!! It was so hard. I ended up turning it off and sitting on the couch.

So I''ve been doing level one every other day, alternating with more cardio-intense workouts (spinning or running). I have a little incentive since we''re going to Hawaii the week after Christmas with the SO''s family. Gotta work on the beach body!!!

Keep up the workout!
 
had a hard time with level 1. I don''t have time to go to the gym cause of work so Im hoping doing this 5 times a week plus a killer diet will help! It''s so cute cause my BF is doing it with me and he used to train hardcore and he is having a tough time too. I''m like "C''MON baby PUSH IT!"

i''ve really been wanting to try this. do you need any extra stuff to do the dvd (weights, pull up bar, etc)?
 
You really just need some hand weights and a mat. I use a yoga mat and 8lb weights which are too heavy. I think 5lbs would have been a better place for me to start. You''ll want to start with whatever is comfy, but still a bit challenging. Each exercise consists of 20-ish reps so it should be challenging toward the end of the set.

As far as I can tell, the only things you're going to need are a set of hand weights (either 3 or 5 lb) , and a mat if you're going to be working out on a hard surface.

Do you have digital cable? Because you can go to on demand and to exercise tv. They have tons of different workouts to do. It''s free!
