Hi Mrs.b The profile pic is the new setting I had done for my solitaire last summer. The platinum setting is very delicate and I love absolutely everything about it except the quality of the milgrain. Full disclosure, I’m saving up now so that I can get my dream setting from Victor, hopefully by the end of the year. I want to find that forever setting! I think I might go back to a halo but I’m not sure right now. So, the diamond details...ACA 1.98c I VS1. This was an upgrade I did a year+ ago and I love this diamond!!! I just can’t seem to get a great pic but it’s mesmerizing in real life. It’s my third ACA and I can’t stop looking at it lol. You’re right, the eternity is the same one I had with the princess. I just love the detailing in it. I confess it doesn’t get worn every day, more for special occasions, but I love it! Here’s a few more pics.

Yowza! What a beauty! I do see what you mean about the milgrain, but I love the basket and the band is lovely - so softly rounded and elegant. Nice claw work, too! I love a beautiful solitaire; I recently had my new diamond set with sizable side stones...and i've missed my solitaire every day since! I love my new ring - but there's just something about a solitaire....

Can I ask who made your ring? And pls - more photos, especially with that gorgeous band!

Every time I think I should spice things up by going for a halo, 3 stone, or pave-down-the-shank type of rings, I come across a post such as this and it brings me right back to why I absolutely love plain solitaires. I especially love how fluid your setting is!

Thank you Mixtress! I know what you mean about solitaires and I have worn one most of my married life. I really love halos too though and find myself craving another one a lot, especially when I see the beauties posted here. One of each would be perfect!!

mrs-b, I wasn’t really prepared to do a show me the bling post so don’t have a lot of nice pics. I’ll try to take some better ones this weekend. The local jeweller I used is in Ottawa but the bench they work with is in Toronto and I don’t know the name. They did a beautiful job with the setting and it is very comfortable to wear. I saw other work they did and it was beautiful. Whoever did the milgrain really missed the mark though. I don’t know if milgrain can be fixed or just removed without having to redo the ring. I don’t really have any experience with this sort of issue.
