Hi, i have a quick question.

I am trying to choose a setting for my engagement ring and i really like the plain solitaire ones, i especially like the knife edge tiffany six prong. so my question is, does everyone with this setting have the knife edge wedding band that matches? im not sure i would want a knife edge wedding band because im not sure how it will look separate, i am used to seeing the comfort fit styles (this is what my mother etc have and ive always thought that looked more classic). so has anyone wore a tiffany knife edge six prong with a non knife edge wedding band? would that look bad?? would the knife edge by itself look less like a wedding band? im going to the jewelers this week to decide what to set my diamond in so im trying to get thoughts from you guys about the knife edge/non thing? id like to be able to wear both together but also just the wedding band separate sometimes. the jeweler is going to have 3 settings in for me to look at for the diamond but i dont think he''ll have in the wedding bands for me to see how both would look together.

so...does anyone have non-matching sets and if so do you have pics??

thanks :)

Check out Demelza''s thread.

She has pics of her knife edge tiffany style with a bunch of different rings. I think a diamond band with a knife edge is beautiful. And a knife edge band with a knife e-ring is beautiful! (that''s what I''m planning on doing

) But if you''re talking about a round edged band with a knife-edge e-ring, I personally don''t think it would look good. Take a look at Demelza''s, lots of options there!

thanks sunkist, i looked through that thread. i think i dont like that look with the rings sitting so close to each other..

i wonder if i can find a thread to pictures of people''s sets with space between the two? i think i like that look better...i thought i saw a thread like that sometime before but now i dont know where it is at.

the knife edge becomes very thin which is why there isn''t much of a gap. No matter what ring you pair with it. I think Dem''s thread is great because it shows that IMO the knife edge wedding band really does look best. it''s also really hard to tell from Pictures how things really look in person. I''d suggest going to a few jewelry stores and trying different rings on. That''s the only way you''ll know for sure what will look right to you.

Hi froufrou! I actually have a knife edge solitaire ering with comfort fit w band. Here''s a link to a thread about this from a long time ago, just because I don''t know how to post photos anymore. I hope this helps! I personally like the look, but agree that the diamond band looks great with a knife edge...but then again, what DOESN''T a diamond band look great with?
