Knife setting questions...

With the diamond I am looking at, a 1.13 carat princess cut with a width of about 5.7mm, is there any reason to think it might not look good on the following setting (3.5mm width according to the site..):

Also, is this setting always comfortable? I''m looking at it wondering if the ''edge'' on it would make the two fingers on either side uncomfortable??

I think the princess of that size would look fine in the setting. as for the knife edge, I''ve heard some on here say it bothered them and others haven''t had problems so it''s probably and individual thing. It might feel kind of strange at first but I''d guess after wearing it a couple weeks one would get used to it.

Just a comment on the knife-edge comfort. My lady had never worn a ring in her life. I got her a Superbcert knife edge setting. It does not bother her one bit. Although now that I look at the setting you are considering, it does look like the band is thicker than the SC setting I got for her so who knows.

I just looked at the 3 D image of the setting. Looks like a softer knife edge setting to me. A bit wider than most, but very nice. I don't see a comfort issue with it. HTH, good luck!!

I have a ring with a knife edge shank and it''s not uncomfortable at all. I suppose it might be uncomfortable if you squeeze your fingers together, but who goes around doing that? Go for it!

5.67x5.60... usually set with the longer side vertically and the short side horizontally

The diamond is almost a perfect square (5.67 x 5.7, roughly). Sorry if I made you think it was 5.67 x 3.5. 3.5 is the width of the band I am looking at. Or did I misunderstand your post (probably!)?
