I had to look it up and had forgotten what it actually stands for, however I remember it means synthetic Paraiba Tourmaline.

Got it. Sometimes I think we need to be careful with the jargon and lingo we use - not everybody is up to speed with some of these terms (in this case, me!).

YAG stands for yttrium aluminum garnet and is a synthetic used mainly in lasers. Think laser hair removal.

That is correct. And it was one of the first diamond "substitutes". It's very hard and wears very well.
