Anyone have any suggestions for wedding dresses that flatter small-chested brides like myself? I do like strapless and more fitted vs. poofy ball gown, but I feel like I''m always pulling my dress up because I don''t have the boobs to keep it up. Any pictures to share?

I have smallish boobies, and I''m getting a super push-up bra to wear on the wedding day. I also altered my dress to a sweetheart to further accentuate the mini-golf balls. If your dress is built well and fits perfectly, you shouldn''t need to keep adjusting it. You can also try getting a dress that''s more fitted, especially in the hips (which is what I did), so there''s not much leeway in terms of downward movement.

Hey MonkeyPants! I''m smaller-chested myself. What I found that really helped was having my seamstress sew my bustier into the dress. (I bought the Le Mystiere seamless bustier.) It really helped keep my strapless dress from falling, never mind that I lost weight and the dress was noticeably loose on me!

Yes! I never thought of sewing boobies into the dress itself! genius

MonkeyPants, I have the exact same issue and preference in dress style myself. When I first started dress shopping, a very knowledgeable bridal shop owner told me that I''d probably look best and be most comfortable in a straight-across strapless (as in no sweetheart or other such neckline). Sure enough, after trying on countless wedding dresses, that is exactly what I ended up with - and my boobs look kinda big in my dress!

I have a ruched top to my dress. It is the Pronovias Daifa for reference. It masks my very small boobies. I've now had to have the dress taken in twice in the ta-ta area

ETA: my dress also has a built in corset-no pulling up at all needed!

If I had smaller tatas, I would be a J.Crew bride without any further considerations. But, it also sounds like you might like Nicole Miller.

Ah, the grass is always greener. . .

oo Yes i think the corset top is a must to keep the dress in place

I love J.Crew but nothing there fits me right. I suppose that''s why they have alterations eh?

Off topic - Monkeypants your avatar pic is waaaaaaaaay too cute. What exactly is going on there? Cute puffy puppy attacking big dog? lol

Thanks rhbgirl! It''s my doxie/basset hound mix (heidi) playing with my FMIL''s 1.5 lb pommaranian-poodle mix. They''re a feisty pair!

The girls are kind of big here, but they don''t stay up very well at all, so they look small. I''m buying a bustier with super padded bra cups. I''m also using tape to kind of pull them up.

haha that''s a lot of "equipment" for your ta-tas

I''ve used tape to lift before but it pinches my skin and hurts so I think I''ll forego that this time :)

I''m not blessed upstairs either, and I think I''m going to try a Nubra. Has anyone that is small had luck with these?

I''m not blessed in the boob department either but I love strapless dresses and don''t have any problems with always pulling them up as I just wear a good padded bra. How about something like this.......

OO that dress is gorgeous and exactly in-line with the styles i''m interested in. Thanks Londongirl for the pic!

I''ve never used it before, so I''m gonna give it a trial run at work one day, lol, to see how the tape works for me.
Not to be TMI, LOL: I''m a D, but they look like B''s, so they def need something, lol!! I saw those pastie things that kinda go under the girls and cover the nip area today in VS, like a U shape. Maybe those will work??

I had a feeling this is what you had in mind

It's from Alfred Angelo and I love it

. I've seen this dress 'in the flesh' and it's STUNNING. You could have some cups sown into the dress and then you don't have to worry about your bra or corset showing.

Here''s another Alfred Angelo dress that you might like....I like the neck line - something different to the strapless style

Take it from a gal with not-so-small tatas, bigger tatas DO NOT hold the dress up!!!

The best thing really is to have cups or a bra sewn in to the dress. Pulling your gown up all night is inevitable (at least with a strapless) but it will be a huge pain to have to worry about pulling a bra AND your dress up.

I went bra-less because my gown have good support but I made sure I wore pasties in case one of the girls jumped out!

I have to agree with KAMA. Sweetheart necklines looking beautiful on smaller busted girls!!! Plenty of strapless gowns have a lot of boning to give a little extra shape up top.

Another BIW here lacking in the boobie department!

I really like the way my dress makes my figure look--I would almost call myself "voluptuous." (Ha.) It is a clingy silk charmeuse, skirt cut on the bias, wrap from one side of bodice to the other, strapless going straight across.

My seamstress told me that, honestly, what keeps strapless dresses up is a tight fit in the waist and good boning in the bodice. It has nothing to do with tata size. I''ve found this to be true in the last two formal strapless gowns I''ve worn: once the waist is fitted to you, the top just stays up because of the structure in the bodice.

Check out this photo--who would know I''m a 32A, right

*raises hand*

34A/B here (depending on where my weight is and what brand we're talking about). My booblets are the bane of my fashion existence. NOTHING fits on top because of them. I swear one of these days I'll finally crack and get implants.

Anyway, my wedding dress was a corset with a halter top. Even if I had foregone the halter strap and worn it strapless, it would have stayed up just fine because of the structure of the corset. I would recommend getting a "true" corset, lace-up back and all, since that is what will conform best to your body.

ETA: Just for fun - at least one poster suggested sweetheart and another suggested straight across for a strapless neckline. I'm curious; which do you all think looks better on a smaller chest? Personally, I think that straight-across is better on a smaller chest and sweetheart is better on a larger one...

ETA again: Me and the booblets in my wedding dress. Yes, this is as big as they EVER look. *sigh...*

Hey Jstar :)

Kathy (the seamstress) is sewing bra cups into my dress, AND thin halter straps just in case it starts drifting down during the reception. Even though my dress was custom made (and perfectly fitted to my waist), it still slipped down because it wasn't a corset dress (it just wouldn't have worked with my style of dress). I can tuck the straps into my bodice for the ceremony/photos, but they are there if I need them for the receiving line etc.

I'll take some pics when I got pick up my dress from alterations in a few weeks :)

Oh, and I agree that straight across necklines flatter small chests. Mine actually curves UP a little, and there's also an empire waist, which I think also helps.

Hey MTG! Can''t wait to see the final result of yours!

I thought about bra cups with mine but wanted to wear a particular undergarment that I had picked out which didn''t work with bra cups.

Thanks Jstar!

Here''s an old pic of the dress, so you can see the empire waist and upward curve. I''m a 34A too!
