First off, thanks to this forum for helping me immensely in my search for a ring!
I celebrated my 10 year anniversary back in December. I was leaning towards getting a ring custom made, then found this ring from Lang Antique and Estate Jewelry. It was perfect! The stone wasn''t as big as I wanted, but shoot, who cares, the setting is gorgeous! And I love the idea of buying an antique ring.
Here are the stats-->
Description: A hand fabricated diamond engagement ring from the early 20th Century. The center European cut diamond weighs just over a 1/2 carat and is snuggly set in a platinum square top head atop a delicately hand pierced 14 karat green gold gallery and shoulders.
Material: Green Gold (14k)& Platinum
Ring Size: 6
1 Old European Cut Diamond(s) with a total carat weight of 0.55
The clarity of the diamond(s) are VS1
Gemstone Color: I
*I had to ask them to explain green gold...Green gold is similar to rose or white gold in that it is gold mixed with an alloy to give it a hint of color. It looks very similar to yellow gold, but if you were to put it next to something yellow you would see the slight difference. Typically the alloy that they use to make it green is silver. They use copper to make gold rose colored.
When I hold it up next to my yellow gold ring, the yellow gold has an orange-hue and the RHR is very brilliant and yellow.
