LaPousette Earring Back Problem

I have .5 studs with LaPousette Backs... I was so paranoid about losing the earrings with the screw-on backs! Anyway, I''ve had them for about 2 years now and the little things on each side of the back seem to *stick*. I thought for a few minutes the last time I tried to take them off I''d be wearing them permanently! I finally got them off. *whew* I guess worse things could happen than getting them stuck on, but my anal-ness about cleaning could be a problem!

Can I (for the lack of a better term) *oil* these backs? Do I just need to order new backs? Anything else I can do?

Get another pair of backs. The little spring is worn out. The same issue would come up with screw backs. You can only thread and unthread a gold screw before it wears out. Good to hear that you are so conscientious about cleaning. I can''t begin to describe the people stuff I have to remove from pairs of earrings that are never taken off. YUKK. Keep it up and remember even metal wears away.
