While I was in New York recently to attend my nephew's wedding, I brought my rings to Leon to get resized. He showed me his dazzling new pieces, a gorgeous 14+ carat moonstone ring and a 13+ carat purple sapphire ring, and 2 pairs of drop earrings that he has for sale on micropave.com; aquamarine and golden beryl. While the rings were stunning, I was more interested in the earrings. I have always wanted a pair of LM earrings. I liked both pairs but the aquamarine ones looked better on me. My husband was in a generous mood and bought them for me. The pair shaped drops, 5.42 carats total weight, are set with a graduated diamond halo, and hangs from a drop made with three small aqua, 0.62 ct total weight, in a clover design surrounded by pave diamonds. The total diamond weight is 1.6 ct. The aquamarine drops are German cut. The color is very intense and Leon was told they are Santa Maria aquamarines. I took some quick pictures with my ipad. They do not do the earrings justice. For better pictures, go to Leon's websites or check out the the video posted by Leon.

Gorgeous gorgeous!

They look fabulous on you. The graduated melees make the earrings stand apart from the usual drop earrings, not to mention the elongated shape of the aquas. You are such a pro that you took ear shots before anyone had the chance to ask.

Amazing.

Beautiful earrings! I love how he used the three tiny aquas at the top. It adds a unique look to the design.

You have the most amazing pieces, and these don't disappoint! I love the graduated halos, but the color on those stones is incomparable! What an amazing blue! Congratulations!!

Those are stunning! The color of the aquas is to die for and the graduated melee in the halo is such a perfect touch. Wow!

Gorgeous earrings! Fit for a princess. Thanks for sharing, and wear those beauties in good health. :appl:

Wow, those are stunning! I love the graduated halo and the color of the stones is just gorgeous

HI:

I look forward to your posts--always a nice surprise in them....

cheers--Sharon

Drop dead gorgeous

Thank you everyone for your nice comments. I am enjoying wearing these beautiful earrings.

Starzin; Yes. The video you saw shows the same earrings. Thanks for posting the screen capture. The color is more true to life than in my quick snapshots.

Chrono: my new ipad has a button to reverse the camera, which makes taking ear shots a lot easier.

Innerkitten, upgradable, distracts and stargurl78: I agree the graduated halo and the three little aqua on top make the design unique.

This is my first aqua purchase. Previously, I was not attracted to aquas because most of the stones I have seen are too pale. This pair do have very intense color. Leon said it very difficult and rare to find a pair in this size and color. He was told they are Santa Maria aqua. But since there is no lab report, I do not know if they are from the famous Santa Maria mine in Brazil, or from Africa with color like those from Santa Maria Brazil.

Those are stunning! The man can definitely create a beautiful piece of jewelry!!!

fab aquas! i too like the graduated melee outlining the drops.

I'm in love with the graceful graduated halo & don't even like colored stones! They look amazing on your ears - congrats!

Oh AN, those are absolutely gorgeous. I love everything about them and wish they were mine!!!!!

Really, really stunning!

Absolutely jaw droppingly stunningly beautiful. You are a very lucky lady. Enjoy wearing them!

They are hideous and don't suit you at all.

Therefore you should give them to me. :naughty:

WOW.

Absolutely stunning!

I love them - they could practically make a pair of levi's look like a night out! :cheeky: So one question for you - which color are they closer to - your pics or his video and Starzin's screenshot? Either way they are stunning, it just looked like in his they almost seemed to have a touch of violet which would be amazing in aquarmarines, but not something I've seen before.

Lucky girl! I hope you feel all grownup in them, because they look like you could be at the Oscars... =)

Minousbijoux: It is hard to say which picture captures the most accurate color. It depends on how your computer screen is calibrated. On my computer, the still picture in Leon's micropave.com website is pretty accurate. Among my 3 pics, I would say the ear shot. The day light picture shows a bit too much green and the halogen picture is too dark. In Starzin screen shot, I think the color is affected by the red velvet background. I don't see purple.

The earrings are very versatile. They can be dressed up or down; goes with T-shirt and jeans, a sweater, a business suit, a cocktail dress or evening gown.

Amazing! :appl: Didn't know aqua even came in those shades, that's significantly richer and less gray than everything I've seen described as "Santa Maria". Great find!

Lovely, just lovely!
