Hi all! I am thinking about purchasing the below stone from WF expert selection, but am having second thoughts... Should I be concerned about the black spots in the stone pictured below around the 9-12 o'clock area on image below? Does this mean there is light leakage in this stone?

I was looking to purchase an ACA stone, but came across this one. If it saves me $$$ and there isn't a significant difference in the stone, than I would rather purchase the ES stone. Please let me know what you think.

That is not leakage. No wories, it looks great

Hi Nancy,

Jules is right, that isn't leakage, I think it's a touch of table reflection where you point out, the image could be slightly tilted causing this effect, nothing to worry about and the ASET looks great. ES diamonds can be an excellent choice if you would rather save some money than have the ACA branding, this one could be a definite contender.

You can have a nice chat with someone at WF too. They'll look at it while you are on the phone with them and they'll give you the scoop and explain why it's not ACA. Usually the difference is some tiny thing just the other side of getting the ACA designation.
I would also ask more about the color of the spot you mentioned [Im guessing this is a VS2?]; if it's reflective, if it's on the table or further down, etc. so you know what you would expect to see with your loupe.

I spoke to someone at WF and she said the spacing between two of the hearts were off so it wasn't ACA. The darker shaded spots I mentioned above is it same location where the spacing is uneven. Does this affect overall appearance and performance of this diamond?

I would think those areas are not going to have any negative effects at all, especially if it is a result of the image and or a slight tilt in the image but speak to WF concerning this to set your mind at rest, I think you will find it's not an issue but do check to make sure as they can actually see the diamond in person.

No possible way you could see that with your eyes,in my opinion. Most ES stones are ideal cut and superior stones. ACA's are obviously wonderful, but ES can get you greater size or better color for the same price. Both are good choices and it just depends on your priorities. I'd have no problem buying the stone you have chosen!
