I am new to all of this - I would like to start an e-ring project with a pinky-peach gemstone. I am looking for 3- 3.5 carats - rectangle in shape, but not stepped cut. Where do I even begin ?
Any advice would be appreciated !!

Thanks in advance :)

Please give us a budget for the ring. If you have examples of gems with the colour you're looking for, that'd really help too. If not, how light in tone is your preferences? Light like morganite or more saturated in colour?

ETA: you can start here if you wanna look around yourself: http://www.gemfix.com/spinel.html and any vendors in the trusted vendors thread: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/can-we-start-a-new-thread-with-respected-cs-vendors.169561/page-5

Thanks for the reply. Ideally, I would like to stay under 3K if possible (hopefully that is reasonable). The photo below shows the general idea of the color of the stone and type of setting I am looking for. I am not tied to spinel for the center stone. In the small amount of research I have done so far, it seems like that was preferable to morganite or colored sapphire. But I am totally open to ideas or suggestions.
Thanks so much again!!pinkstonehalo.jpg

3 k including setting?

That type of setting is expensive

I'd definitely take a look at JuliaB on Etsy. She has some holiday sales right now, but she's due to have a baby soon, so if you're interested I'd ask soon. She might have some stuff that's up your alley. Just of note after a quick look (despite the stone not being in your ideal size range):

$2,545.75
2.03 ct peach sapphire
Prong-set in a Tiffany Legacy-inspired, 14K rose gold ring

$1,695.75
1.74 ct pastel violetish pink sapphire
14K white gold ring

This might not work for you, but fine water gems has a lovely lavenderish (instead of pinkish) spinel on sale in a similar cut and size for 1200

Obviously it isn't pink but the overall saturation and "feel" (for lack of a better work) are similar

Thanks all. Again - being pretty new to this maybe my budget is not realistic to include the setting as well. I will definitely take a look at the links you all suggested.
Thanks again!!

For the size you want and the amount of detail you want in the setting, it may be a bit unrealistic, but once you find the stone, we can work with your remaining budget to find something similar
