First time poster! I bought my first diamond online recently. However, I had not yet discovered PS, otherwise I'd have known the H&A images are not substitutes for Ideal Scope images The ring looks great in all light conditions, but I also don't have much to compare it to and wish I had some objective way to measure light performance. I'm still in the return window so could swap the stone if I want.
I'm considering buying a beginner Ideal or ASET scope, but have read on PS about how difficult it can be for an amateur to take a properly controlled image to share for analysis. Therefore, I question whether buying one will actually provide much additional insight? I also read on PS that experts can sometimes tell something about light return based on H&A imagery. That's what I'd love to get feedback on and understand what more, if anything, could be learned by any likely subpar ideal scope photo I take?
A few notes. I like fire and am OK to trade off some brilliance if necessary - hence 36 crown is not necessarily a negative for me. Also, I know that the H&A images aren't perfect and I'm OK with that. This stone wasn't listed as H&A but the images look better than a lot of the others that get marketed as such on BE, so I thought it was a good value. I'm not bothered by mind clean or things that only experts would notice. I simply want to know, will the 99+% of people who are not experts view it as truly excellent in everyday wear?
GIA report specs, 360 video links, and H&A images below. I'd be very grateful for your thoughts!
