I'm sure someone on here was looking for one of these!
May I ask in what way?@pearaffair May I ask why you've decided not to keep it? Personally, I'm a bit skeptical of MMDs, but I've only seen one in person. So I'm just curious of your take on it, if you care to share.

May I ask in what way?
In terms of cut quality? material quality? the perception that they are not 'real diamonds'? the potential 'social norm' implications?
It would seem that even DeBeers accepts that MMDs are likely to be in demand but are trying to retain the current emotional association whereby mined diamonds are sold as rare and therefore must represent 'the special bond of marriage'! Will they be successful when, in terms of budget, one can buy a lot more MMD bling than Mined bling for a given sum? That's a key question!
@pearaffair thanks for answering. @OoohShiny - that's a question that would require a very long answer, and that would be a threadjack. But to put it simply, a MMD is a man-made imitation of an object that is naturally occurring, and as such, is not the same thing. DeBeers is brilliant in its tactics though to devalue and take over the MMD market.
Thanks for the reply! I think you may have mentioned your thoughts over on the MMD forum / main Lightbox thread? or at least you have the same thoughts as others!@pearaffair thanks for answering. @OoohShiny - that's a question that would require a very long answer, and that would be a threadjack. Emotions and values are a strange thing, and can be both a benefit and a drawback for us sentient beings!@OoohShiny I HAVE commented in the past actually, thanks for remembering! I think it is a very deep subject and really makes some of us examine one's values, to say the least. It's such a trivial material object really, but yet can stir all sorts of primal memories of intrinsic values one didn't even realize they had. Growing up in a jewelry-oriented household, I was influenced strongly and discussing the subject in that other thread made me take a hard look at why I think the way I do, and I had never done that before on this subject. And yes, it is cool that a reproduction has been made, it is an achievement, yet still not the same thing, in my mind.
