i have been so excited that we are having our ceremony and reception under the stars safely inside in a planetarium...until photographers have expressed something verging on horror that i haven''t considered hiring a lighting designer for such a dark space. the challenge in the planetarium is that the more light you bring into the room, the less you can see the effect of the ceiling. since we want people to see us (and their food!), we''ll need to bring in some level of light. i was relying on getting enough light on the tables (using LED tealights), but now i''m not sure whether that will be enough. has anyone used a lighting design service?? what do they even do?? i think i would be ok with investing in that type of service if its going to make the difference between being able to get pictures of our wedding and not having any photos come out. any thoughts???

eek! I''m glad that the photographer said something before the day of! I''m not hiring a lighting designer or anything, but i know that around here some of the DJ companies offer lighting services as well, and it might be cheaper to go through them than hiring a whole different company? How big is the planetarium? if it isn''t too big i bet you could get away with something pretty minimal. good luck!
