I can't believe I'm getting a new diamond!! I stopped in at my jewelers, hadn't called ahead, but needed to drop off my ring for repair. My gal wasn't expecting me, but her face lit up when she saw me. She said " I can't believe you're here, today of all days". I live about 2 1/2 hours from the jewelry store. Anyhow, the jewelry store was having a big diamond/wedding show and one of the vendors (who is the manufacture of my current wedding set, Precision Set) happened to be there with one hell of a ring/diamond!

My jewelry gal said " as soon as I saw this diamond, I thought of you". She had even made sure to take photos to send to me later on. She was blown away when I walked in later that day. I got to see this beauty with my own eyes.. And this diamond didn't just speak to me it yelled!! I didn't go looking for a diamond.. But it found me.. And it's love!!

The GIA report lists it as an Old Mine Brilliant. It's measurements are 9.04 x 9.01 x 6.26 mm.

Carat weight- 4.02
Color grade- I
Clarity grade- VS2

Finish-
Polish- very good
Symmetry- very good
Fluorescence- none

The table is 49% , depth is 69.5%, girdle is med- thick. It has the 8 main pavilion plot.

It's gorgeous! I'm having the setting made as we speak! I can't believe my luck.. Had I not walked in that day.. I might have missed this opportunity! It's a big step up from my current stone & setting.. But it's more what I really wanted the first time around, 3 years ago, when I picked out my 20th Anniversary upgrade ring. I'm over the moon.. Now I just need to be patient.. So difficult!! I'm having it set in a beautiful platinum double halo setting! I'm sure I'll post pics when I receive the ring!

Good lord! 4 ct in a double halo! That's going to be huge! Cannot wait to see

did you know that this deep (69.5%) 4.02ct stone = to a well cut 2.75ct in diameter?

Wow! :appl: Can't wait to see those pics!

It's an old mine cut. That depth sounds about right.

And it sounds amazing!!! I can't wait to see it!

I have seen the stone in person and I'm very happy with its presence.

Yes, that's how it's worded on the GIA report.

Do you even understand how old cuts work? higher crown, etc? 69.5% is actually good. Many of them are in the 70s%.

I'm a size 4 1/2. It definitely had a presence on my finger, yet it didn't seem too much. I'm very excited!

That depth is very common for Old Mine Cuts ...not unusual at all. Some AVC's are in the low 70% range.

Hi,

It was your lucky day, for sure.

I could possibly have my ring this Friday... Please say a prayer for me!! This antique cushion is causing me sleepless nights... I'm so excited!! I'm missing wearing a wedding/engagement ring, as they took mine in for repair, but now as a trade in.. I'm sans a ring.. Making me a bit sad.. So please send me some good luck vibes that I'll receive my ring on Friday. I'm still in shock over this whole transaction.. I'm going to have an actual antique cushion!!! :loopy: :appl:

Just wanted to share... I received my ring on Saturday! I posted photos in "show me the bling" section! ;))

I know that some people might think a 4 ct.cushion in a double halo setting might be overkill..but, I think my setting is so delicate. Just wanted to share a few photos here, in case anyone was curious.

OMG !!!!!!

So so beautiful!!! Congratulations! :appl: I could stare at that profile ALL day! :lickout:

I love it! It's absolutely amazing and just gorgeous on your hand.

WOW! It was meant to be yours for sure!

I just LOVE the hand shot with the water in front of you - it's so white and brilliant!

I LOVE it! Look at that high crown. Beautiful, beautiful stone.
I think the double halo is very well done, does not overwhelm the stone.
