Hi everyone,

Downsizing again, after my recent spending spree (which lasted for actual months, lol) I have too many lookalike/similar gems. These are gorgeous and high quality gems, I hope someone sees something they like!

I've listed three to start but will be adding at least a couple more. Link to all my LT listings:

So far I have a lavender sapphire (6 mm, just under one carat, nice face up esp for sapphire! It was recut in the US which is why...). Completely untreated, from Yvonne Raley. Asking $299 which is a big chunk off her original asking price of $380ish and I just bought this one.

Also listed a pink sapphire from Dana at MC. Bought just a few months ago, 1.58 cts, comes with AGL cert, @7x6 mm, nicely cut and very sparkly. Asking $699 OBO, paid $1k.

Just listed a Vietnamese violet pear, .85 ct, 8.4x4.6 mm. Originally from Brad at TGT, bought on LT. Asking $475, trying to get what I have into it as this was already reduced for second hand market. Great price as when I see these for sale in this size/color range, they are always near or over $1000.

Will be listing a mint garnet but not sure exactly which one yet - I have three, lol. Need to let one go and having a hard time deciding which! I also might list my tiny paraiba cab. It's a lovely little 5 mm round cab, untreated Brazilian paraiba. From Yvonne also - she got several at a gem show (I think it was Tucson?) earlier this year and quickly sold them all. I paid about $375 for it as we all know - it's expensive stuff. I like it a lot but not sure what to do with it setting wise, and I have other projects in the works so...I think I'll offer it.

You can view my listings on LT, PLEASE email me directly as I never seem to get any messages through LT anymore. Link to listings:

That first pic was one of the lavender sapphire. More here - then pink sapphire pics. Forgot to say that one is heat only.

Wow! That was fast! Yay! :appl:
All of the stones are really nice!

Thanks Rockinruby :). Yes, that paraiba sold very quickly, I had multiple inquiries before listing it. I wish they were all that easy, lol!!

I've been working on creating some pieces with some of my Burmese spinels, but it looks like I'll have a good amount left over that I won't need to use. These were expensive gems and although small, they are beautiful. I'll list some of them for sure. They range from about 3.0 mm up to 4 mm for the larger round pair, and the oval pair is right about 4x3. The gems range from pink to very red in color. If you see something you want feel free to inquire, just email me through my LT contact info. I paid $300 just for the 4 mm pair (from Yvonne Raley - she only had a couple of pairs total in that size, she told me that it's very rare to find this quality material in Burmese spinels above the 3.5 mm size or so). The redder 3.5 mm rounds were about $400 for all 5 (there's a basically matched suite of 5 - two very well matched pairs plus one extra). The pinker pairs I have less into, about $175 each for the rounds and the ovals.

These are glowy and bright and I can see no orange or brown in them, the quality is rare and very good. They would be great side stones, or tiny earrings, or you could combine them together for a bracelet or pendant.

I'll discount them for sale as I'd like to move some of them, since I no longer need them all. (If you happened to follow my post in CS about how to set these - I ended up buying ANOTHER parcel of spinels plus a pear pair, and I'm using those for earrings plus a ring; and I am keeping my emerald cut suite for yet another project, lol. I'll post pics after my current projects are done, it won't be long as these are already in production :)

Updating this thread!

I will be offering one further discount on remaining stones, as they're already pretty well priced IMO :)

The lavender round sapphire is ON HOLD, sold pending pymt, thank you!

The lavender/violet Vietnamese pear spinel will be discounted to $400. This is probably the lowest price I've seen on this material in at least a year. (For example - when I bought my last Vietnamese spinel of very similar coloring and carat weight, just a couple of months ago, it was marked at $800 per carat and that was the *trade* price! Not retail).

The pink sapphire from Mastercut will now be offered at $600.

I'll update my listings when I get around to it, lol - but if anyone sees this and is interested, just email me please :)

Also - the little pink 3 mm round pair of Burmese spinels shown in my previous pics is no longer available.

Thanks so much for looking!

The one trouble with threads like these where we throw in multiple stones at once is that sometimes its hard to know what's left. If you have the group of pink/magenta spinels still left (can't remember whether they are Burma or Mahenge), PUHLEEZ call attention to this fact! I can't believe someone won't snatch them up immediately - for that matter, at your prices, all your stones!

Thanks Minous :)

I do have a lot of the pinks/reds left, but I've been lazy about this stuff, lol. I need to update listings and do a listing for the little Burmese gems. I just haven't been too concerned if I sell those, I wouldn't mind hanging onto most of them. I'm mostly just putting this out there in case someone sees something they need.

I've gotten to the point where most of the gems I own I actually do like enough to set; but I just have too many that are similarly colored. So it's your basic gemstone hoarding situation, lol. I've been steadily selling things plus working on actually setting things too - so my collection is getting into shape. But it needs a bit more work to get it where I want it :)

Hauynes are on hold, thank you!! :)

Aww, man! I just now saw that you were selling them! I didn't even get a chance to fire off an email before they were sold!

I'm sure they will make the buyer happy. :))

Aw, I'm sorry. I expected these to go quickly though. I have a very pretty tiny pair of cobalt blue spinel too if you're interested - they're a bit smaller though, I think @2.5mm - and not quite as bright a blue, although still very beautiful. Just let me know if you'd like more info :).

Also - the larger 4 mm pair of red Burmese gems are also sold.

And the hauynites are officially sold too (previously were on hold). Thanks all!

Aw minousbijoux, it was me. :) I'm hoping to think up a project for these little guys soon, but you have first dibs if I end up selling!

(And for anyone else looking at katharath's stones, you should go for it! Very accurate photos, super fast shipping, plus she was just really darn nice, lol.)

Thank you so much blingbunny!! You were a pleasure to deal with, it doesn't get any better :). I hope you are able to create something beautiful with your new gems.

I appreciate your feedback and comments too - good to hear. I try very hard to be as accurate as I can be in pics and descriptions.

Still have the pear Vietnamese spinel and the pink sapphire (heat only w/AGL cert); I've done final price reductions on them both. ($325 for spinel; $550 for sapphire)

Please directly email if interested, my addy is in the listings - thanks for looking :)

Katharath - I very much like the lavender pear spinel BUT the last photo of it on your listing makes it look like a grey /green. Is that the same gem please? x

Edit: Aaaaaah just noticed you don't ship to outside the US - so please ignore me!

Sorry LD :(. It's bc of complications due to insurance issues with USPS. They don't cover gems shipped outside the US, and I just can't be responsible for anything if it were to get lost in transit. If you're very interested perhaps we could work something out - feel free to message me. I guess on my end I would have to ask that I be relieved of responsibility if it were lost in shipping; and I'd need to charge a bit more for int'l shipping, as I would want to go a very reliable and quick route if possible. Anyway - it's something to consider.

The last pic IS the same gem but not a terribly accurate photo IMO - it was from the LT seller that sold it to me; I can't seem to get it to photograph looking like that, and it's really not green at ALL or very gray (I don't want to say NO gray, although to my eyes I can't see any). I only included that pic bc it does shift to looking a bit bluer, and though I don't think that pic is great, it shows the bluer aspect a little.

I think I'll probably take that pic down though and see if I can't get a better one...

Thanks for your question and allowing me to clarify!!

ETA - just snapped a few next to my Tanzanian spinels. The pear doesn't have the cut that these have, but it has such a lovely color, unfortunately my Tanzanian spinels just don't have that lack of gray that the Vietnamese pear does. I think these pics are accurate and they also show the window. It's harder to see it on the hand shots bc it closes up on the hand fairly well IMO (this is a gem that I think will look beautiful once set, though perhaps a bit less impressive loose).

And I did just change out the pic on LT for one of these...

Pink sapphire is ON Reserve/pending pymt :). TY!

Good luck with the pear spinel sale. The color is beautiful. I wish I had the funds right now.

Thank you kgizo, I hope it finds a good home soon. It's just funny bc I spent so much time searching for a Vietnamese spinel in that color (and within my budget!) - a couple of years at least - then I found two within about 6 weeks! But the one I'm keeping is my preferred cut (round), which is why I'm offering this one.

Also, pink sapphire is officially sold :)
