Hi ladies!

I just had a great weekend and am feeling so happy I wanted to share! Sorry this is lengthy!

So, this weekend was our last weekend just hanging out before school starts up again and our lives get crazy! This is pretty much all we do during the semester:

I know, we''re totally boring.

On Friday, after he enjoyed an extended happy hour after work with some co-workers, we met up for dinner downtown. He was a bit tipsy (not too bad, just jovial and chatty!), me not so much (ok, not at all!). So I order a cocktail (dirty martini, extra dirty with three olives if you''re wondering!) and we are chatting. He says we probably won''t have much time to get out together this fall with our schedules, and I agree. He says "probably not until we get engaged and go out to celebrate!"
23.gif
He usually doesn''t throw these lines out there.

So, I''m feeling bold, and I say "Oh, when might that be? Say...less than 3 months?"
He says: "Yes"

Me: Less than two months?
Him: (thinks to himself, you can tell he''s trying to figure it out) Yes
Me: Really, before October 15th?!?!
Him: Maybe...(thinks to himself again, you can tell he has miscalculated). Well, I will tell you this. It will definitely be before November 1st.

I don''t want to push it anymore, so I just sort of drop it. Then like 5 minutes later he asks me how I picture my proposal. I tell him I don''t, and we both laugh because we know that isn''t true. I tell him I''m not saying anything, that whatever he plans is perfect, and I have no lofty expectations, really.

Overall, this was a really fun, flirty conversation

So then Saturday night, we went out to our favorite Mexican restaurant (I told you this was the last fun weekend before school!) and are drinking margaritas (on the rocks with salt, if you''re wondering. Had one for you ladies!)

Our ENTIRE conversation on Saturday night revolved around our wedding - ahhh! We talked about if we would do a honeymoon, if so where, what date we might get married, I gave him a little lesson on how booking and deposits work, we talked about who would be in our bridal party, etc. It was AWESOME!

As if that weren''t enough, we spent Sunday afternoon watching wedding ****: "Whose wedding is it anyway?" three times in a row and chatting about the episodes, etc.

So not only did we have a nice, relaxing weekend with just the two of us before we dive back into the books, but we talked about weddings AND I got an updated timeline!

I am about 85% sure he hasn''t bought the ring yet, and unless he''s REALLY trying to throw me off (which I doubt) I am thinking he might propose end of October!

Yay, thanks for reading and sharing!

Ahhh!!!! Less than 3? Maybe less than 2????

Gotta love how the booze get them to spill a bit!

And I also love watching wedding **** with the FF.

Did you get mexican in Mexican Town? The margaritas are the BEST at Xochimilcos!!

Congrats!!! That is such good news! Your long wait is coming to an end!

We totally did go to Mexican town! We were at El Zocalo across the street from Xochilmocos (sp?) so we could sit outside and pretend we were on vacation in Cancun (we went last year). Hehe, I love Mexicantown...

I know, right?! Thanks for your enthusiastic reply!

OMG how exciting is that? I just joined the forums not too long ago and had to reply to this post because I had almost the EXACT same conversation as you not too long ago.. and my "end date" (lol) is before November 1st as well! How exciting!!!!!!!!

Now just for the waiting.. congrats again.. this is such exciting news!!!!!

Yay!

Those conversations/weekend activities are adorable and sound like so much fun! Your wait should definitely not be too long now! How exciting!!! Haha, good luck concentrating on studying with the knowledge that a proposal is right around the corner!

Hey Pearl... recovered from your BWW thread (about the fam) yet??
I thought you got a bit of heat for a pretty lowkey topic!

HOORAY!

Can''t wait to hear your story, JCarly!

We have done one "in-store" shopping session, but have decided to buy online.

I''ve fallen in love with the cushion cut, so have given him my preferred specs and said I''d rather put more of our budget into a diamond than a band, so we''re gonna go with a very simple, plain jane solitaire, with a .70-.85 carat cushion. Maybe I''ll upgrade someday, maybe not. Sent him an email about it a couple of weeks ago, and haven''t brought it up since! So we''ll see!

Sounds beautiful!!!! I just love cushion cuts!!! And that size is a really nice size as well!

Aww, that''s so sweet, thank you! yay, we have the same end date! Maybe we will be engagement twins?

How very exciting :) Nov 1 will be here sooner then you think :0

Such an exciting time for you :D

Awww, thanks Pearl!

You''re not kidding, I can hardly focus on anything right now, let alone when school starts back up. I''m hopeful that I''ll be so busy with papers, projects and deadlines that I will have no time to worry about when anything will happen!

Deelight: thanks to you, too! I am thinking Nov. 1 will be coming awfully quickly this year!

This is great news, lee! How exciting! I don''t want you to have to wait fully until the end of October, of course, but I would love a Halloween proposal story

Also, yay for being a fellow solitaire lover! It sounds like it will be a fantastic ring, engagement, and life together

Ooh, or a back to school proposal. I am such a dork, but the first day back is totally my favorite day of the year. That just might be my dream proposal. . .

Gotta love the solitaires, and thanks for your kind words!

Ohhhhh, Halloween would be awesome! Of course, I don''t want to wait that long, either, but I would. That''s my second favorite holiday, with Thanksgiving being number 1! I do love the fall...

And I am just like you, the first day of school is so fun! Everything is all fresh and new. I always make SO take a pic on the first day of school to mark the occasion. I know, it''s weird, but my mother lined myself and my three brothers up on the first day of school every year to take our pictures. Those are some great shots, a way to remember each year.

Ok, I''m rambling. That''s all to say that, I, too, love that day and it would be a cool day to propose, but I am sure it won''t be that early. He starts school Monday!

My ideas are: 1. I am running a 1/2 marathon mid-October, and have fall break the next two days with no school. Maybe at the finish line? Later that night in my post-exercise bliss?

2. University of Michigan/Michigan State University football game October 25. We both plan to go, and it''s a big family affair! A tailgating proposal could be kinda cool....(go blue!)

And I''m all out of ideas. Frankly, both of these would be a little "public" for him, I think, but who knows?

Ok, thanks for indulging me!

Lee, I totally had an image of your SO biking along side the marathon group with the ring. You would win for sure!

Pre-tailgate would be fun, too.

Yay!

Haha, yeah. I basically just stopped checking it until I saw it was off the main page and figured people were done. His mom sent me a card today which I contemplated posting about, but figured it''d be easier to just not say any more on the subject. Oh haha and I one of your threads earlier today about wanting an upgrade and I definitely think you should talk DH into getting one! Haha.

*End of threadjack*

leeNY, the type of ring you''re thinking about sounds lovely! I recently got a cushion cut and I am IN LOVE with it. Haha. I stayed home sick from work today and spent a good deal of my resting time in bed just staring at my ring.

Good luck with the studies!
