LOGR Baguette Mount

I just ordered a baguette mount that''s supposed to be for a princess cut stone. I am really, really excited about it, but how do I ask for a simple, square four prong setting like many of you have used for your asschers and cushions? With LOGR, I try to be as clear and concise as possible, and so far I haven''t had any problems. Here''s the link to the setting 5.5mm Princess Setting.

Any estimates on how much it should cost for this modification?

Oooh, another baguette! I love that setting!

While I cannot answer your question, I do have two of them (one has my pink spinel, the other is waiting for me decide between a red spinel and a windowed paraiba). In my case, I just asked him to modify the setting to fit a 7.2 by 5.6 emerald cut. It worked perfectly.

If you''re not adding a lot more gold and/or diamonds, then he charges $30 to make modifications to an existing setting. Resizing to fit the finger is $10.

I just wanted to know that this setting is actually different from what I and others have purchased. Mine came with the pointy prongs and not the block prongs. It also has longer baguettes and a different basket. However, I haven't seen that setting around anymore.

I get charged $30 for resizing because my finger is either 3 or 4. He charges an additional $30 for other changes.

Charmy, do you and the others have the older one with baguettes that are a little more tapered? What do the pointy prongs look like?

I remember a thread a while ago about the differences. I also haven''t seen the older version, though I prefer it because I think its proportions are nicer. I can''t seem to find the thread no matter how hard I try.

Ok, I just found it, though its for an oval link. The princess mount I ordered actually doesn''t seem like either of these..

Does LOGR charge you extra for waffling around? I asked for two quotes on that setting, a round 4.5mm and a round 5.5mm. The first one came back as $30 for a customization fee, and the second one came back as $25+$30. Do I get charged extra for changing my mind? For now, I''ve asked him to hold on to the mount until I can figure out what stone I want for it, and he seemed ok with that.

I am getting more and more charges from them lately. They are definetly increasing thier misc and custom fees in strange and undefined ways. I have no idea what the rules are anymore or how it is calculated.

Stephen just said "Extra cost is $25 plus $30 non-refundable labor" without listing why there''s a $25 extra cost.

I''ve asked to keep the original customization/quote, and I''m hoping that he won''t tack $25 to that too.
