Lonely Sunday morning=More pics of my Engagement Ring and other pieces!

So i had promised flower pictures of my engagement ring a long time ago, but i had been very busy, studying for my PhD defence and i couldn''t find the time to do it

. Today it was a beautiful Sunday morning and i was alone at home, so i decided that this was the perfect time to take some decent pictures of my ER

.
I also took pics of the tiny diamond solitaire ring, that i got as a gift for my daughter when she was born, with the intention to keep it until she grows older and she can wear it (I thought: If i was the baby girl, what would i want my mom to get for me as a gift and give me later when i grew up

? The answer was obvious, so i proceeded with the purchase of the cute, tiny diamond ring!!!

) The stats of the diamond from the little one''s ring are: 0.25 RB, VVS1, F, Good cut...You can tell that when i was buying it i hadn''t discovered Pricescope and i was an ignorant, who paid much for high clarity and color but didn''t pay any attention on the cut, which makes all the difference...

. (Well, i know better now and i have PS to thank for that...

Thank you all so much for everything that i''ve learned here...PS is a real treasure of diamond education...). The size of her ring is 5, which is bigger than mine

(i wear 4.5!!!) and it fits her perfectly since last year

I also took pictures of a half eternity ring that i had bought many years ago. The diamonds are of S-T color according to the in house appraisal. I thought that it would be interesting to see the color difference next to my other, E color diamonds. I hope that one day (unfortunately it won''t be any time soon

) i''ll be able to buy a GOG August Vintage Cushion in a similar, very warm color, set it on a simple white gold setting and wear it together with the half eternity band (isn''t it great that dreaming is for free

).

Brellymom: Yes, both our rings are set on 18 ct, white gold illusion settings, which look pretty similar to each other! This kind of setting is the traditional, all time classic setting here in Greece for a solitaire! I really like it a lot!

Susimoo: At the time that i was buying my daughter''s ring (a few months after she was born), i had just started divorce procedures and i didn''t have an engagement ring of my own (i gave it back to the ex husband immediately after i announced to him that i''ll be filing for divorce).
Last summer i got engaged and when we were discussing my solitaire with my fiance, i chose the setting that matched the one of my daughter''s ring, which also happens to be my favourite one anyway! A few months later we decided to upgrade and AGAIN i chose the same kind of setting...So, in a way, it is MY ring that matches the one of my daughter''s (and not the other way around), since her ring was the first one of that kind that i brought home! And yes, it''s great to have matching rings with my little one! The only problem is that i have to explain all the time that: "no, you can''t wear that to school sweetheart"!!!

. Maybe i''ll take a pic of both our hands with our rings on and post it!

Hi Dreamer

I''m not married yet but in Greece when a girl gets engaged she''s wearing a simple band, made of white or yellow gold, with her fiance''s name written on the inside, on her left hand (without that band, you''re not considered engaged!!!) If she receives a diamond engagement ring too (and usually she does), she''s supposed to wear both of them on her left hand. When she gets married, the diamond ring stays on the left hand and it can be worn with an eternity band and the simple gold band with the husband''s name moves...to the right hand and it''s worn there alone! I am attaching a picture of my band and engagement ring together, which i''m both wearing on my left hand for the time being...(until the 26th of May, when i''m getting married to my beloved one

).

Sadly, I''m having a little bit of a color complex with my ering lately. I may end up consigning it. I''ll probably post a thread to get opinions/thoughts in the near future. Didn''t mean to threadjack. Anyone reading this, please continue admiring Naty''s GORGEOUS rings.
