I meant a diploma mill, you know, those places that will give you credits for "life experience" and such nonsense. Legitimate distance education programs (like, for example, GIA) are no easier than traditional degree programs. They're more convenient but they have their own unique challenges.

I think there was a scandal recently about someone in academia who said that he had a Ph.D., but really got it from one of those diploma mills. I actually considered the internet school route, but since I want to teach, it didn't seem like the best way to get a job!

Okay, all discussions regarding education aside, I am venturing to guess this White Diamonds isn't who she says she is and may even be a troll

Regardless of all the BS she's feeding us with false sincerity, I simply do not believe anyone with a Ph.D. would write "you, are, and too," as "u, r, and 2." This is simply too juvenile in nature. Also, she changed her name in the profile. First she was Denise and now she's Marissa. And, also, she asked about a New Jersey jewelry store in her first post, and referred to New Jersey as "New Joysey," as if she's a local from there, but says in the profile that she lives in Beverly Hills.

hhhmmm. . .

is she a troll? Who knows? Is she taking us for a ride? Probably.

IMHO, this person is looking for attention. Could be any number of people types. I recall someone deeply disturbed from another forum (actually 2 forums) who had a bad case of multiple personality (user ID) syndrome. I still believe she even pretended to be a guy at one point.

Heck she may be here for all we know.

In fact, she may even be...well, never mind.

KMom, I have to interject here. The "other forum" of which you speak is known widely for it's paranoia, and booting of perfectly good 'citizenry' because they do not see eye to eye with the moderators. I, myself created other identities there, so that I could have a voice in what happened after I was banned in October. I've since decided that forum and it's members especially the member I went to bat for, are not worth getting upset over. BTW, the member I went to bat for has since returned to the 'other forum' with full membership level returned to her.

I'm sure you know this.

Personally, I figure the whole crew, with some exceptions, deserve each other.

Yeah, I was looking for that answer too.

Around here, many of the popular locations and vendors book up almost two years in advance, so if you want a particular place or time of year for your wedding, you have to have a long engagement. And, as Mara posted, when you are saving up to pay for everything yourself, as we are, it takes time.
