Hello everyone!
First I want to thank everyone who helped me to choose the setting! I love you all!
I received my stone yesterday and couldn''t keep it home any longer beacuse I kept looking at it every 15 minutes.
Who can live like this? So I called Leon to schedule an appointment for the next week to discuss details of my setting. He actually had time today and I saw him this morning. First of all I want to tell you that he is the nicest person I have ever delt with. He is very polite and pays attention to all little detail that are so important for all of us ladies :)
I emailed him this picture of a ring. I deside to go with simple platinum with no sidestones or pave. I love sipmle classic solitare in platinum and this is what he is making

beautiful, beautiful, beautiful....so classy. Can''t wait to see more pictures.

Congrats!!!

You said you didn't want pave but that one has it? Or did you mean a pave halo?

That is beautiful. I love the extra pave detail under the stone. Very subtle but it's there!

Best of luck in handling the wait... it's the hardest part, you know?

yes, that ring in the picture has the pave but my ring is simply in platinum. Smooooth platinum!
I like simple platinum but after seeing all the BLING here on prisecope I was considering to add some pave but that lasted only one day

May be in the future

but now all the attention will be at the center stone

I always liked the cassic look of solitare and would really hate to change my mind now.

Nu, I have to warn you... Leon said that my ring would take 3-5 weeks, but it''s really taking more like 7-8... But from what I''ve seen, I think Leon''s creations are worth the wait!

Orange,
I am prepared for the worst. I know that with Leon you have to wait sometimes but at the end

What kind of ring Leon is creating for you?

BTW, Question to all of you: We have discussed the ring width with Leon and I wanted to make it a little wider but he insisted on thin 2.0-2.2mm. The one that I have tried in his office was about 1.8mm and looked very very thin. It was a setting without a stone and I think may be this is why it looked so tiny.
What do you guys think..2.0mm is it still too thin? I still have time to call him if I want to change some details.

wow!! I love the setting!!!

personaly. I love thin width.
I changed my setting couple month ago
my E-ring ( center stone is 3ct up) ex setting was about 1.6mm and now 2.2mm

I like ex the 1.6mm width setting much better. I am not sure if it''s right or not
but the ex thin setting was make center stone looks more bigger to me.

now I am thinking to change to thin width setting.

wow that thing is stunning, what is the size of the center stone you are putting in?

i showed my hubby that picture and he about passed out, then ran off to the hardware store to get the picture out of his mind.

Nu,
I have a band that is 1.9mm wide with a 1.81ct RB. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the look of it. It makes the center stone show so much more than a wider band would.

I also have short, little fingers and small hands. In order to wear my e-ring, matching band (which is my anniversary band) and my original platinum wedding band in between, I had to have very narrow bands because there simply isn''t room on my finger otherwise.

Mara,
Please note that my ring will not have any pave . It will be just platinum. I posted this picture because this is very close to what Leon is making except no pave. My stone is 1.2ct.

I stoped at Cartier yesterday to look at the width of their setting. The width depends on the center stone. They had two rings with my setting and I picked the larger one to look at since it looked closer to the size of my stone. The lady pulls out a ring and tells me that this is 1.1 G VS2 stone and I look at it and think that it is much larger than mine
6.gif

Then I ask her to look at another ring and she pulls out the ring and from what I can see the stone is smaller than first one but she tells me that it is 1.28ct. So here I finally get it. Someone must have misplaced two rings because the one that she tells me is 1.1ct is actually 1.28ct and 1.28ct is 1.1ct. I point this diference to her and she agrees, looks insdie the band since they put the ct weight there and then switches the tags of two ring so they properly match.
Imagine if someone actually bought the 1.1 for the price of 2.8?

The 1.28 ct band looked absolutely fine on my finger. I asked about the width and she didn''t know. I tried the WB (she knew the width of it..2.5mm) and the WB was a little wider so I assume the band of the ER was abou 2.0-2.3mm
Also they didn''t allow me to place WB and ER close to each other because they don''t want two scratching one aganst the other.

I think this will be simply incredible in sleek, unadorned platinum.

Great choice!

nu, the basket head on that is beautiful...I think it will be VERY classic in just platinum! Maybe a nice sparkly eternity wedding band?
31.gif

as much as i adore my eternity band set...sometimes when i see these very simple but unique platinum solitaires, i wish i could switch my e-ring out for a while...just to get a taste of something different without having to actually change forever. where is that SAFE snap-on setting we all crave?!

How exciting! I love your choice of setting!! You have wonderful taste.

Thank you all !!!

Mara- I am definetely getting an eternity band to add just a little bling
