Greetings all!

I have been lurking for around 3 years on and off and officially signed up for the fun! I thought I''d post my ring and specs here just for kicks!

Engaged May 2002 and married June 2005. I''m on my 2nd remount - the first setting my jeweler (at the time) completely ruined (looong story) so after my hubby and I were married I reset. Recently, I decided to make the "white" metal movement and had my diamond set into a Scott Kay palladium setting.

Specs:

Date of AGS Report: Nov 2001

1.045 AGS Ideal 0
6.51 - 6.53 x 4.04mm
H / SI1
Depth: 62%
Table: 54%
Crown Angle: 34.9%
Pavillion Angle: 40.9%
Flour: Inert

Ring size: 7.5

This is the new Scott Kay setting...

it looks really white for an H! i like the prongs a lot, and the stone looks great on your hand. i''m sorry to hear about your previous setting. was it really different from your current setting (aside from metal choice)? i''m always interested in how ring style tastes change (or don''t) over time and resets. lovely ring!

My that is GORGEOUS!! I just went to the jeweler today to finalize my ring mount choice. I decided to set my 1.76 round in a four prong (split prongs like yours) in a plain WH setting similar to this, without the surpise diamonds, and a 4mm wide mount. I like how versatile the plain gold setting is, to mix with various bands, plain, channel set, prong set...etc. There are some VERY beautiful rings on this site, it;s hard to choose just one! Great choice, I hope when mine is ready next week, it will be just a beautiful! Enjoy!

Thanks for the compliments! Isn''t it fun to look at other''s rings?! I really was inspired by TONS of people on this board to go with a simpler, thinner band. This one is completely different than the 2 previous ones.

I don''t have very good shots, but here''s the original that the jeweler botched (I still really LOVE this setting... I thought about getting a similar one in white, but alas, fell in love with SK)

And this is the one I just replaced - it''s a Diana setting. I was trying to keep close to the original with this one. I don''t have any decent shots, but this is the best I have.

I really love how the SK thin band makes my stone POP!

Lovely reset! And you''re right, the thinner band does make the stone pop!

Welcome to you!

Gorgeous rock and love the new setting

Beautiful stone and setting!!! Thanks for sharing your pics and showing it off! It''s really beautiful! The new setting definitely highlights your stone better. One thought, besides fixing the prongs it might help the catching problem if you lower the stone a little bit. Height is personal preference though, but I find I knock higher set rings all the time.

What a beautiful setting and the diamond is amazing!!

Welcome! That is a gorgeous diamond and setting!!! Both of your previous settings were quite lovely, but the new one makes your stone look HUGE. You can''t go wrong with one of Scott Kay''s beauties.

Oh, so pretty! It looks so airy like your stone is just floating. Congratulations! (and welcome

Welcome!

You have a beauty there! Thanks for sharing. You have to realize you are obligated to shoot that baby in some sort of flora. A grass blade, a rose petal, and bowl of lettuce. Something organic. It seems to be all the rage. You can also go with a great pile of rocks or even pet

Welcome!

I am a yellow gold nut and as much as I love the original setting, I think the setting you have now showcases that rock perfectly! Congratulations!

Beautiful! i love the new setting--congrats!

Hi, I''m new too:) Have to tell you I love how this looks! It does make your stone look much bigger- and the whole things is modern but still really feminine. Nice choice!

Welcome to PS! Glad you decided to register and post after lurking for a few years.

Your stone is so beautiful!

I also love that scott kay setting you chose and consider it for a remount. As I recall, that Scott Kay comes in two sizes. Is yours the thinner band version? I have a photo here of the setting I tried on in the store.

This shank looks quite a lot thicker than yours - that is why I am wondering if you got the thinner version? Yours is really lovely!

Beacon - yes, mine is the thinner version. Though I will admit it''s a bit thinner than I thought was going to be. I had tried on the same setting in your photo - I think it''s 3.5mm. They had the princess version that was thinner, it was a 2.5mm. I had to order mine sight unseen and it''s only 2mm, when I was expecting 2.5. Not a big deal, but the surprise diamonds poke out a bit which is now going to make it harder to wear with a shared prong band (part of why I wanted a remount). I''m not sure a 2.5 would have made a difference in that respect, but I still love how it looks alone.

Welcome and your ring is beautiful
