I saw websites of clay characters cake topper and thought they were so cute, so I decided to take a try at making one. My Fiance kept asking when I was going to make it when I first told him I am attempting to make one because he wants to see if I can really do it. Well now I am done with the figures, and I think they turns out pretty good. I will probably add a base to it, but not sure yet.

Well here it is.

1. Making of it - headless

what kind of clay did you use? fimo?
And... Dare I ask... how long did it take you??

PS did FI approve that they ''looked like you''?

I just love them how cute are they??? You did an amazing job, you could make a lot of money doing those!!!! Did it take a long time to make them?????

OK, now you''re just showing off!

Seriously though, those are so adorable. You''re FI must be so proud!
I can''t believe how detailed they are, it''s amazing.
BRAVA!

At first I was just going to put a piece of clay on the groom''s head as hair as I had seen on some websites, but my Fiance told me that he wants the groom to have spiky hair like his. Well that took a long time to do because I add each spike piece by piece, and then I accidentally drop the head and some pieces got flatten.

flopkins - Yes, I used fimo. Actually my fiance gave me a heart-shaped box made with fimo for Christmas one year because we agree that we have to make a gift for each other. So now I love fimo (j/k). I am actually using fimo for my favors too.

I did the body in one day, the heads on another day, and the details on a third day. I say it probably took like 16 hrs total, which isn''t too bad.

I don''t think we look as cartoon as the figures, but I try to make the bride''s eyes bigger since my eyes are bigger.

Thank you for all your compliments. I had a lot of fun making them.

Oh my I love them! Soo cute!

They''re amazing!!!! You should be so proud of your talent and of how special they are

oh! they''re DARLING! I can''t belive you did those yourself! My mom does craft shows and I know there was this one that was far away that she did for a few years when I was younger and there was this crafter there that did little clay people and then she glued them onto plaques and stuff. We have one that says "Our Family" and its got my parents my sister and I and our two cats.. lol.. Except one of our cats died and we got a new one, so my mom repainted it lol.. The clay people look very similar to hers, only I think yours look better!

There's this website, don't know it off hand, where the guy/girl basically does what you did and charges thousands and people are on waiting lists! (I think yours is cuter!)

You are so good!
I love Fimo too, what a fantastic idea.
Now we just need to see pictures of the real bride and groom so that we can compare!

OMG!!! They are so CUTE!!!!! I had a friend who had toppers like these made for them, but yours are somehow even cuter than theirs (and they were CUTE!)!! I love them! You could seriously do a little family, or wedding party of figures. And marketing = selling figures = more diamonds!!!
