my uncle''s jewelry company custom re-set this E-ring for me and i was able to have it on my finger right before Xmas 2009... i have been wearing it every day since!

Really beautiful...and you have perfect hands to show it off!

Gorgeous!!

I''m a sucker for exactly that style - 6prong centre, much smaller sidestones in 3prongs

Enjoy it!

Stunning!

Very pretty - do you think the center stone looks bigger with the six prongs than it did in the previous setting with four prongs?

I too love that look - I''m partial too but the ring looks beautiful on your hand!

Beautiful! I love the proportions.

ditto! Looks just beeeeutifuls!

Beautiful ring!

I have a question regarding the center stone (and PLEASE don''t take this as an insult to your ring, I love it!)- I see that it appears to be a bit dark, and it is an F color. What causes this? The reason I ask is I saw a ring I love and the center stone also appeared to be dark. Not yellow or any other color, just dark. Does anybody know what causes this?

Again, gorgeous ring, I wouldn''t hesitate a second to have that on my finger!

It is not the color of the stone that you are seeing here but rather that it is an ideal cut stone. Ideal cut stones tend to go totally dark in certain lighting conditions. You''ll find tons more information here on this topic.

Your ring is soooo gorgeous! Plus you have model hands. I saw your ring in the Real Life perspective thread and saw that you are suffering from DDS. Your ring has great finger coverage!

i remember you took part in helping me out on the re-set planning ! so thankyou so much for sharing your ring photos which enabled me to go ahead with round sides!

i am 100% convinced that the crown head with 6 delicate prongs really brought out the roundness of the diamond which in turn made the diamond look noticeably bigger to me. honestly due to the prongs on the north and south sides, the center stone became more significant in terms of standing out more visually... the whole ring looks less east-west and "horizontal".

hi ! it''s no problem at all ! diamonds that have excellent cut with ideal proportions always give out that "dark gray hole" look under very dim candlight-ish lighting situation. i actually LOVE looking at it that way because it just looks mysteriously gorgeous ! i did get caught starring at my ring in dim restaurants a few times !!

i think once you look at more diamonds you will see what i mean...

I do, I just got it recently - similar to yours in proportions and look actually, though it''s a bit different from the W-prong linky

That''s lovely! Enjoy!

I love your ring. Classic and beautiful. Great size stones for your finger.

frankie, I have to ask because I''m in L-O-V-E with your mounting! Who is your uncle''s jewelry company and does he sell to the public? I love the six prong center and three prong outside stones. It''s gorgeous!

hi! thanks so much for your compliments!

my setting is an original that i have created along with the in-house jeweler! they''ve taken numerous photos of my ring just so that it can eventually become a permanent style ! they never use molding for ring settings. every piece is completely hand crafted from scratch. the most amazing thing is that you cannot see any finish marks at all! my piece is completely flawless with prongs looking exactly the same size even under 30x magnification... whereas my original vatche setting, i did see slight prong size difference and finishing marks, and slight uneven-ness under 10x magnification.

my uncle''s company is called MABROS, and it''s located in Central district, Hong Kong. they specialize importing diamonds, and creating high end diamond pieces especially in timepieces and colored gemstones... they are also the sole seller of the ashoka cut diamond in hong kong. if you do travel to Hong Kong make sure you visit the store!

here''s a recent article on my uncle about the jewelry company:
http://www.igafencu.com/ebooks/index2.php?option=com_flippingbook&view=book&id=33

and here''s the website for the store:
http://www.mabros.com/index_01.html

hope this helps!

I am so glad to hear that you are happy with it - it really is beautiful!

Interesting about the six prongs - I was expecting this answer as it would seem to me that the eye would be drawn around the circle that the six prongs create. I was always afraid of too much metal but I think as long as the prongs are delicate, it would create a very eye pleasing look. Thanks for sharing that with me!

Enjoy your ring - it really does look superb!

It is gorgeous!

OMG. LOVE.

Seriously, I am in want. It''s gorgeous!

That is just beautiful! Wow!
